@Buffalo Sabres

I’m going to the game tomorrow and was just wondering if the arena has beef on weck.

I’ve only been to Buffalo once before and I didn’t get a chance to try beef on weck. I love regional foods so I was wondering if I could get it at the game, or if there’s a better place to try it. My plan on Sunday is to visit Anchor Bar and pay my respects for inventing Buffalo wings, but if there’s a better wing place then I’m all ears.

Thank you.

**EDIT:** Consensus is Bar-Bill or Duffs. Thank you very much. I’d like to leave with a positive note so I’ll just say I have Dahlin on my fantasy team so I hope he and Barzal do really well Saturday.

**EDIT 2:** Oooh, where can I get sponge candy?

**EDIT 3:** Might not make it to the game. https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/philadelphia/news/tanker-truck-catches-fire-multiple-lanes-closed-on-pa-turnpikes-ne-extension/

If youre going to be in the North/Southtowns – go to BarBill. Wings are way better and their beef on weck is excellent – and u can kill two birds with one stone

Anchor Bar is ok – but its a very touristy place. They dont have the best wings in the area, frankly not even close. Personally? Im partial to Duffs because they do them crispy and saucy

Sabres claim that the food at the arena is going to be much improved this year.
I went to the Rangers game but didn’t see any beef on weck. The pizza looked decent, certainly better than last year.
Anybody tried the arena food yet this year?
We went to barbill before hand and had great wings and beef on weck FWIW.
    Duffs also has great wings.

bar bill has the best wings in the area, but i also highly recommend our local pizza which a lot of people don’t realize is a regional variant as well in the same way detroit and NYC style are regional. Leo’s is amazing pizza and decent wings. i really like Schwabl’s for beef on weck in a really old fashioned unique place.

Had beef on weck last year by the labatt blue zone which is up the first set of stairs. No idea if it’s still there. But as others have said. Go to bar bill.

Avoid Anchor Bar, go to Duff’s or Bar Bill like others have said, they’re very standard Buffalo options and I mean that in a good way. Bar Bill has good beef on week, not sure about Duff’s. 911 Tavern has my all-time favorite wings but I wouldn’t recommend it on a whim to someone visiting from OOT. (Fyi I love chicken wing discourse)

Haven’t been to a game since the before time (covid). How’s Pearl St these days? That was always a convenient spot.

I had the MegaWeck from a stand near section 100/123 at home opener. It was much better than last season’s beef on weck offering. Cut on the spot and weighed (8oz) for you. They also offered a 4oz version.

You could get a proper beef on weck made by anywhere else but Delaware North Concession.

Washington Square right down the street from the arena has a really great beef on weck. Doesn’t get the hype of other places, but it is fantastic. Or at least it was. Idk if it’s the same guy cooking this year.

Yes, they have a beef on weck stand on the 100 level. I have not tried it, but it looks pretty good. They slice the meat on demand, which is an improvement over how they used to make it.

    Watson’s for sponge candy. Enjoy!!!

If you were going into the arena. The Aud Club Pub in the 300s is where I’ve gotten my one and only sandwich. Not terrible actually

The arena has beef on weck, hand carved but only in the club level I believe. Is good but Bar bill is way better.
As a side note: the bar area tables are up for grabs so you may b able to grab one as soon as someone leaves. That’s what we usually do, instead of waiting the 1–2 hours for a table.
