The Penguins traveled to St. Louis, where they took on the Blues. Pittsburgh made lineup changes for the first time this season, swapping Jansen Harkins for Radim Zohorna and P.O Joseph for Ryan Shea, who made his NHL debut. Pittsburgh area-native Brandon Saad scored the first goal of the game and his first goal of the season. With only five seconds left in the opening frame, Evgeni Malkin tied things up, 1-1, with a breakaway tally after coming out of the penalty box. During the 2nd period, it was a span of 1:21 that made the difference in this contest for the Blues: Neighbours and Parayko each tallied for the home team, forcing Pittsburgh into a 3-1 deficit to begin the 3rd period. With under five minutes left to play, Saad put the puck in the net for the second time of the game, making it 4-1 Blues. Radim Zohorna, who was added to the new-look third line for tonight’s contest (a line which generated a lot of offensive zone time), earned his first of the 2023.24 campaign to make it 4-2.

Pens going to be another 1 & done playoff series team this season if they don’t find a way to utilize all their talent.
This team will struggle again this season..
Bottom six is very weak
not a bright game from us. Good on Geno though for staying hot.
5 games in and I'm not seeing much difference from last year, even with all these players that were supposed to help.
We lost ☹️ but at least Evgeni Malkin is still scorching hot and sexy 😌
It's bad when us fans know what the Steelers and Guins have needed for a few years better than them it seems.
Thru 5 games last season, the bottom six had 19 points. This year they have… 4?!!!? Holup. Wait a minute. I thought divas upgraded the bottom six? Or was that all Toronto hype?
