Great interview. I always wonder how these guys figure in the pre-ride carbs into their fueling strategy. I ride in the morning and always have about 150 gms of carbs 1 hr before a ride. If its a 2-3 hr ride, I don't start taking in carbs until the last hr. However, if its a 5-6 hr ride, I start taking in carbs (liquid usually Maurten) towards the end of the first hour. But I rarely hear pre-ride carbs and timing duscussed, and how to adjust carb intake based on eating before a ride.
