Typically, the Leafs try the low percentage shots in O/T and end up losing control of the puck. However, this was a text book way to win in O/T – control the damn puck! Of the four minutes of O/T played, Toronto had possession for 3/4 of the time and had multiple shots on net, all of them solid. Tampa had only one shot near the net as it went over the crossbar for all the time they had puck possession. Hopefully, this is the way the Leafs approach O/T in future games.
