Amazingly, the DBC crew survived Vegas and is back in studio to recap the first race of the Round of 8. Regan Smith jumps into the fire in replacement of Brett Griffin, who is still in Vegas, to chat with Freddie Kraft, TJ Majors and Casey Boat. The group recapped an eventful live show at Westgate, Kyle Larson’s superstar status as a global driver and Ryan Blaney’s DQ that has him in a must win going into the final two races of the round.
In Spot On Spot Off, Dale Jr says “you can’t just run well and advance” in the Round of 8, saying a flawless performance is required to advance into the Championship 4, Christopher Bell feels like he missed his best shot to make the Championship 4 and NASCAR penalizes multiple drivers on hanging back on the restart.
Plus, the group fields Reaction Theatre from distraught race fans, Vegas attendees and TV viewers who aren’t thrilled about a particular commercial.

They just don't understand what makes Larson, Larson. He drives on the edge every lap, of every race. That's what makes him the best. Others dial it back when they aren't that good. Person turns it up and does everything he can, to get everything out of that car. Doesn't matter what car he's in, he drives the tires off of it. To correct Reagan, he won the first late model race he was in.

I live in Las Vegas, go to all of the NASCAR races here and the crowd is thinner here bc of the heat. We have lights why don’t they have a night race here. It’s miserable to sit on those stands with the sun in your face for 4 hour!! Go Larson!! 😊

I wonder when we realize that the next generation of racers for Cup is looking bleaker. Don't get me wrong. Young talent will fill seats for years to come. But will it be the BEST talent? I'm not so sure anymore. With the increase in dirt track payouts and the overall lower cost of running a Sprint Car or Dirt Late Model every season, I could see a lot of talent who would've traditionally gone the NASCAR route just sticking with Dirt, making a VERY VERY solid living and just being happier having more control over their own destiny than jumping into the cup series and being reigned in personality wise, money wise and ultimately competition wise… We might not have the best racers in America at NASCAR's top levels very much longer… Whether the fans will care or not is another thing…
This show is so much better without Brett! Mike Davis needs to make a change and keep Reagan and boot Brett!
