Atta Boy Cole..

OK Guys, it’s time to talk about the game last night between the Montreal Canadiens and the Washington Capitals. The Habs won this one by a score of 3-2 after some overtime heroics compliments of Cole Caufield, but they did blow a 3rd period 2 goal lead in the process. Lets dive right in and talk about it!

  1. Good vid as always. Thought you would've shone some light on the habs missing to Capitalize on 2, 5-3 PP's and/or how CC was signaling for a change when he looked back and saw Zukes making a great dish up to him. How about that leg kick on the game winner? I think CC has something like 77pts since playing 86 games with Marty at the helm.

  2. Cole is probably getting high 40s – low 50s in goals if he stays healthy. I mean c'mon. Every time he's out there he's on a 40-50 goal pace and has scored 53 goals 22 assists 75 points in 85 games under MSL. Pezzetta also looks much improved. His shot and his speed has taken a jump.

  3. Going to be a long season but hope they keep the games entertaining! Was nice seeing the deputy going 2-0 the other night and last night an overtime win with a goal by Cole! Nick with 2 points Sick! We might not win em all but if we see effort and improvement is all we want! and no more injuries!!!!!

  4. I know it’s too early and the kid has potential, but im worried about Slafkovsky he looks out of place and out of the play all the time, little to no physicality, most importantly he lacks offensive instincts completely.

If he doesn’t discover his game soon, let’s say 10 or 15 games, a trip to Laval is in order, unless the tanking orders are given.

  5. cole caufield doing the ol' datsyukian reverse hit is golden, he will be targeted and he needs to learn those moves.

gallagher looks just fine. still lives in the paint.

    great stuff junkie.

  6. It looks like we learned something from the Wild game. Everyone seemed to be trying to play a quieter and more careful game.

  7. Looks like Caufield added 10 points in agility in the off-season. His foot work is amazing.

He looks like an excited little chihuahua when he has the puck.

  8. May i remind you Monahan did not make it to the trade deadline last year! The trade deadline is miles away, Monahan will get hurt at some point this year, If that is Hughes plan it is ridiculous. Allen stole the Show against the Caps, I hope Josh Anderson is gone before the deadline, He skates around a lot but does nothing! What a release by Cole Caufield.

  9. Monahan is great. What a good hockey player. He does a lot of things well. But I honestly rather keep him. He is a good solid hockey player and good for the kids

  10. They need to up their play on the PP…2 five on three…Nothing!Really! How many times did they miss the net by,shooting to high or beside the net?The third period was awful, they sat on there 2 goal lead thinking it was enough…JFC did they eat a large poutine between the second and third period? The only forward player that really stood out last night (imo) was,Newhook!Thumbs up to Jake Allen for helping the Habs win this one.

  11. 1rst Star : MTL #22 Cole Caufield (Game Winning Goal) 2pts
2nd Star : WSH #17 Dylan Strome ( 2 goals including to sent both teams in prolongation and get 1 Game pts for his team.
3rd Star : MTL #11 Brendan Gallagher (1 insurance goal who was need by the habs to go in the prolongation.

  12. The Monahan goal was something I been preaching forever get pucks and bodies to the net instead outside perimeter hockey..The second goal well lol everyone going to the net and in the net. This is why EVERY player needs to be active instead of cycling around the outside waiting for Cole to get open for the perfect shot it is the same as trying to hard to setup Ovie it is not good hockey.
Cole and Nick are open ice players and well they got some open ice and Cole did what he does best shoots and better yet he had his head up and aimed his shot.

  13. Hey HJ! Your choice of background music for this video gave me big Roman Reigns entrance vibes ahaha I kept waiting for the main piano melody to come in lol
    CHeers from Montreal bud

  14. They almost blew another 2 goal lead late, but other than that, a nice game. Capfriendly has avg age of forwards at 25.9, compare that with Pittsburgh at 31.7. Wash (washed up) is also over 29.

  15. I am pleased in general about our progression.
My biggest frustration… Cant close out these games.
Our opponents have pulled their goalie in 3 games and we have given up 4 goals.
Our opponents have gotten 3 points they should not have earned.

  16. When Dvorak comes back I would like to see Monahan move into the top six. Maybe center Slaf and Newhook

  17. Monahan. Good in and off the ice. Veteran to teach the kids. Unless the return is stupid good, I'd say keep him. He has a lot of value for the organization. Everybody who passed on too small Caufield is now kicking their own arse. Go Habs Go! Go Junkie Go!

  18. I know everyone has been saying it but the Habs have to get that PP going. They had so many opportunities go nowhere. If they want to climb in the rankings, they have to be more opportunistic.

  19. Loving that clip of Pezz channeling his inner Hulk at the beginning of your videos, bud.

    Makes me smile.

  20. The more I see the Habs power play the less I appreciate St. Louis on the bench. They’re still trying to force the same shit. Get a pp coordinator, get Anderson off the pp, get a proper lefty across from Caufield that can one time but pass when needed (try Slaf) and shoot the fucking puck with a screen in front instead of static passing around the boards
