Great to be down in Sydney. Couldn’t leave with out one quick catch and cook… With a sneaky creature taking a bite of my finger when least expected it. But what was it?

Tremendous vid as usual! Bit exciting at the end!!!!!
Really dig the intro! Would love to see more of Sydney. Always look forward to the new videos, Rod! Peace from Los Angeles
Sydney is beautiful when you look at it from a distance! Nice shot
Still loving your videos! You were my first Youtube subscription. All the channels are getting worse, but I thought you would like to know there were 8 sets of 2 commercials during this 37 minute video :/
While in the middle of a dam good bleed startin, He says, "we'll grab some of this bone and try to lure him out", and he grabs a the smallest skits piece of tail bone like 2 inches long!!! ๐๐๐ cheers mate, legend
I made this verbatim tonight! Even found the game chilli crunch w/ oil. OMG it was soooooooo good man! Wife and 4 yo daughter devoured it. Simple and absolutely delicious ๐
Good one, should get the money eel and cook it ๐ฎ
C'mon man, lets not go down the road of click bait and lies. I understand it's hard to make endless content just fishing diving etc, but who films themselves washing their hands? Even though we don't see you washing your hands and all of a sudden you're bitten, but the camera is recording a rock. C'mon man I thought you were better than that, this is BS
Nice to get out to boyhood hangouts! Besides the wind the weather looked great. Bet you wont stick your hand under a rock again? Moray's like finger food too! Lucky it wasnt a coral/sea snake? ๐ฒ Glad to see you out n bout Brother. ๐ on! ๐
Next video eel catch and cook ๐
Takin' one for the team mate! So rando, thanks for keeping us entertained๐
Don't want to spoil the party but l after seeing what I think was your last island trip l am wondering the thought process that lead you to park your boat using the electric outboard the tec is cool but your a long ways out and it goes wrong well you are not swimming home anchors are good also the boat is underway but not in command that is poor seamanship sorry but I think your videos are good and would like to see you keep making them not drowning trying to catch your boat
I always get hungry watching you eat what you catch. Going to try that recipe ๐
i bet it was an eel.
i was standing in a tidepool cleaning some squid while camping in Hawaii and a little moray eel tried to bite my toe. everything else stayed away, so i would say probably an eel.
edit
HA! called it!
Damn that Eel !!! Because of the title and thumbnail i was watching with suspense the whole video by the time you were eating the fish I had all but forgotten about the impending doom then BAM out of nowhere caught me off guard as much as it did you.
As much as i like snapper and a lot of others target them. The bream is very underrated and delicious, not hard to find either fishing land based or boat.
Boy that is a dulllllll knife
great vid thanks….peace out
Bro I started watching your videos during covid, I thought you were from Sydney, then Melbourne, then Brisbane ๐
Anyways, great content, still watching! Best on my WFH days ๐
You need a haircut, make yourself a favor.
Hey mate, what straps are those holding the rods to the roof of the car?
โค love your content! Such an enrichment!
I caught one of those morray eels while fishing from the jettys in Cadiz Spain.
Scary fellas. super sharp teeth. you're lucky you still have your finger..
You were his catch and cook, you were dinner ๐๐ฌ๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ง he had got his Wok ready๐๐๐ฌ๐ง๐ฌ๐ง
Damn bro……..Fish with Chili ๐ถ๏ธ crunch for breakfast!? Hell yeah thats the way to go!
Bobber Downey junior ? Bobney drainger field? ๐ฃ๐ค๐ป๐ฃ๐ค๐ป๐ฃ๐ค๐ป๐ฃ
Sorry but funny๐ You got Eeled๐….. what a nasty creature.
I hate eels with a passion I wouldโve cried
Love a good 'trash fish' cook up Rod! Caught a bunch of trevalley the other day and made sashimi and beer battered fillets and it was bloody delicious. We are spoilt for choice here in Oz and the folklore about this fish or that fish often exceeds the reality when it's fresh and prepared well.
Hot tip re the chilli oil – have a look at Coles or order online some Umami Papi brand. It's bloody delicious and I almost find a way to include it in every meal hahaha ๐ It's in the deli section not the Asian section though!!!
Very lovely to see that โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐น๐น๐น๐น๐๐๐๐๐
Cool episode man, cheeky little fkr under the rocks!
As a cynical doctor once told me, "Well, bleeding ALWAYS stops…" Cheers and heal well!
Hermitage Bay a real hit or miss place for fishing these days your must be a Dover boy
If that happened to me in Australia I'd be hollering and screaming louder than the ambulance. You should have caught and cooked that bugger!
Love the mustache ๐
You are around South Head area… Why didn't you go to Pittwater or to North Head, Old Man's Hat or Bluefish Point?. Even better if you wanted to spear fish, then East of Shelly Beach at Manly is excellent. I guess you must be staying with Malcolm Turnbull etc….LOL!….When I was a teenager in the 80's – we spent every weekend summer to winter spearfishing at Shelly Beach and Fairy Bower area, and all the way around to Bluefish Point. Fished the platform at North Head – had to climb down the 100m+ cliff on the chains/ladders and bolts etc. And we also spearfished/fished from Luna Park all the way around to the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron area – was scary and awesome at the same time.
I think in the world of fish being speared by you is considered and honorable death
Next meal is moray eel!
after a long of computer remote work, this is my escape – thanks Rod. I miss the ocean!!
eel mybe ??
Youtube will probably demonetize the video because of that thumbnail and that you didn't blur it in the video. just a heads up. they hate "blood"
You should link up with Josh Niland. That would be amazing.
I used to eat fish 3-4 days a week, caught from my yak but I have to ask do you think catch and cook in spots like this or on an island just adds something to the taste? Unfortunately I can't eat chilly but I use a lot of herbs and spices and if I could get Thai basil and Vietnamese mint
you gotta try fried fish in tortilla wrap with stuff in it๐
