The Colorado Avalanche move to 5-0-0 on the season with a 6-4 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday. The power play stepped up big, going 3 for 5 and the penalty kill remained hot by killing 4 of the Canes 5 power plays.
The depth lines contributed as well. Fredril Oloffson potted a goal, while Logan O’Connor found the net once again short handed. His 3rd SH in as many games. Can he make it 4 in a row to tie the NHL record? We will find out Tuesday!
There have been two homes games so far this year at Ball Arena, and for both of those games we have not heard “All the Small Things” by Blink-182. The song that has been synonymous with the Colorado Avalanche. It appears to have been retired. Why we are ok with this.

I've been to both home games so far…feels like they are trying out a few different "sing-a-long" types of songs to see fan reaction and what sticks. People in the stands and walking out were complaining about no small things.
I don't mind…I get goosebumps everytime Baba O'Reilly starts up before the 3rd period.
What was weird was hearing the Eagles toy with it at the Ranch this weekend. I don’t remember hearing it in Friday but they definitely did it on Saturday. A good amount of the crowd got into it but I felt like it was out of place and felt really gimmicky.
Shaggy is right there was a version of riders on the storm by snoop dog! It’s pretty good too. Hope to see that version make it on the list.
Sound Check for me was Any Way You Want it – Journey: the Avs are 5-0 now and they’ve done it on the back of 5 different styles of gameplay. The Avs have shown that they can beat you any way you want.
Another thing equivalent to a short hand goal would be the triple play in baseball. Hardly happens.

Bo is playing on his off side and I think he’s not comfortable there , cause he’s never played that side,,, I’m hoping when Jones gets to Denver, he will go back to playing with Mansonor just playing on his side,,, Bo will be fine, he will get there , I know we have to find things to complain about or or evaluate, he will be ok, he’s just getting frustrated right now
