The unbelievable start to the season continues as Alex DeBrincat, Dylan Larkin, & the rest of the Detroit Red Wings are on a 5 game win streak (in spectacular fashion)!

Tune in as we start with a note of support for Detroit Red Wings radio announcer Ken Kal (5:05) before jumping into Detroit’s key win over the Ottawa Senators: DeBrincat’s return to Ottawa, Michael Rasmussen fighting Brady Tkachuk, Dylan Larkin dominating (especially on the power play), Shayne Gostisbehere and Joe Veleno stepping in offensively, Ville Husso’s strong game, leading the Eastern Conference after, & more (6:00).

Next, Detroit’s electric win over Calgary at Little Caesars Arena, as Steve Yzerman & Derek Lalonde’s squad put up a hat trick thanks to Alex “The Cat” DeBrincat, 3 points from Lucas Raymond & Justin Holl, more from Larkin & Seider, Jake Walman’s 1st goal of the season, a Reimer win, & more (17:15)!

    Hopefully the back up goaltending stays solid. That is something that wasn’t really mentioned, but it has contributed. It will be very important down the stretch too.

    Loving the season so far. Gotta be honest though I am pretty tired of Sens fans trashing Debrincat for screwing them over. After his start this season it is clear the sens were not deploying him correctly by having him on the second line and that is all on them.

    I have never seen you guys more excited. I don't know if I'm happier for the Wings or for The Winged Wheel Podcast. My wife and I have been watchin you guys since the beginning. So happy for you guys. I see real smiles on your faces!

    My favorite thing about the win last night, and the 3 wins prior for that matter, is that if you take every DeBrincat goal off the board, Detroit still scores enough to win each of those games.

    Obviously you can’t discount what those goals do for momentum or situationally in a game, but Detroit’s getting scoring from everywhere right now. So if DeBrincat ends up on a cold streak at any point this season we’ll know that they still have a roster that can get the job done.

    I am going to say it again because it needs to be said. I have never been more wrong about a player than i have been about Rasmussen. He took all critiques and negative comments from fans/journalists and turned himself into a very important name on this roster. Good on you!

    Anyone with the take it's early doesn't watch any hockey outside the wings & highlights. The wings right now are top 5 in the league

    Can’t wait to hear everyone saying Söderblom (with the short blom), instead of “Söderbloom” because Elmer thinks it sounds cooler. 😂 (I doubt anyone will adhere to his request aside from Bob Kaser, but I find it funny)

    Sure, Boston is off to a hot start, but they've also had a bit of a weak schedule. I fully expect us to be playing a 7-0-0 Bruins team because their schedule has been so weak. Also, on Kane, no. He might feel apprehension with signing. We don't want him, and I daresay we don't need him.

    This team makes me feel some sort of way 😊. I really don’t know what to make of all this. Enjoying it of course, but I’m scared, I’ve been hurt before………………

    I'm excited for us to get ASP into the lineup once hes done in the SHL… His offensive playmaking being a dman will add a totally new layer to our club. There is so much to be excited for.
