Two wins over the weekend propelled the Bruins to 5-0-0, the second-longest win streak to begin a season after a 6-0-0 start in 1937-38.
The biggest reason why the Bruins are winning? Goaltending. Both Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman are among the league leaders in save percentage once again, and a strong penalty kill is certainly helping as well.
Rookie Matt Poitras scored his first two goals as a pro while displaying some nice chemistry with Morgan Geekie, while big gund David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand led the way on Saturday after a nice fight by Trent Frederic.
It’s not all great though as Derek Forbort and Milan Lucic are injured, and Jake DeBrusk fell in hot watrer after missing a team meeting.

I appreciate the candid and I think, quite accurate read on the Bruins thus far this season. I am eager to see 1st and 2nd line centers develop.

What boggles my mind is how often someone suggests trading Ullmark. Why in the world would we trade the best goalie in the league?!? I have to believe that those people suggesting this aren't Bruins fans.
Id take these 5 wins w a grain of salt bc all 5 teams were trash. Only LA was ok. At best.
I thought for sure Poitras had an assist on Geekie's goal because he cut back and then passed, but I guess 2 other players touched it after before the goal (I have Poitras in my dynasty pool so I watch him closely lol)
Good assessment- proud of Matt. It seems like his frustration just released something in him and he decided to play his game.
When's the goalie finds that sweet spot in their career, they're not going to leave it too soon. I did not expected decline for Ullmark, he's still got another solid two seasons before we see significant decline barring injury
yet if Jeremy actually carries a heavier load we will risk more losses.
But Goalie Bob might want to get his bonuses again! We should mention he gets bonuses when his goaltenders win awards. He did well last season

I dont get why people keep saying they've only played bad teams. The predators and kings are not bad teams. They're fringe playoff teams at the very least. And shot differential is a joke of a statistic, because not all shots are equal. Its the same kind of nonsense as plus minus for players.
