I thought his response to Scott Oake at the intermission on HNIC was a funny little tongue in cheek comment. Of course the media will make a big deal out of it, especially because it's Evander. It's a total nothingburger!
Might be the best thing ever happened to them, stop the focus on one or two guys that people are assuming they are the best for the power play………they have a lot of good players like any team but no team has a Conner that coaching staff would be ridiculed for not putting into key roles, now they can try it without explaining to haters.
This guy cannot help his team because he has poor hockey skills compared to younger players. Watch him play next game. He skates fast up and down the ice, rarely handles the puck and looks for garbage rebounds around the net. That's it! All the rest of his ice time is spent starting fights or being goaded into them. Either way he hurts the team by making them face so many potent power plays. He's just the worst player to have. San Jose got rid of him but Edmonton is likely stuck with this loser because everybody else in the league already knows how cancerous he is to winning teams. Just send him down to the American league to finish his career. Even that league is too good for this no-talent bum IMO. No need to mention his gambling problems, like allegedly betting against his own team when he was a SJ Shark. Did he start fights to throw games? Hard to prove but likely.

Personally I am more of a fan after that funny moment on HNIC, I had no idea people were talking about it. Quick wit and a good funny way to answer a typically stupid sports broadcaster question. This may be exclusive to NHL I’m not sure but the “reporters” never actually ask a question, they just make a comment and then the person is supposed to answer. “It was a tough 60 minutes out there today”…. Oh… that’s a question??
sure it sucks with mcdavid being out, but now we will really see what the rest of the team is made out of. this is their chance to rally together and play for their captain while he’s out. i believe more now. they have something to fight for

Kane has become so well spoken over the years. Would love to see a letter on his jersey sometime soon
