They have been in TROUBLE for how many years now…🤣🤣🤣👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Why doesn't everyone just relax, these boys will get it done, he have before and they will again, and with McDavid missing they have won before when he was out. Think back to last year the boys lost 6or 7 in a row and they came back and won 10 or 11 in a row. Everyone needs to stop getting on this team.
decent idea re Kane… but kane may not get 'carte blanch' re line choice ie he may demand to play on Drais line & PP – when he is not producing at all and is -6 this yr, was -4 last yr. Kane clearly caused the McD injury – skated right into him vs going to a scoring posn or blocking his player out & letting McD battle for the puck. Missed net by 3' on a 1in100 shot… sending puck all the way back to Skinner (instead of keeping play in the O zone) .. & Skinner misplaying it causing the tie-ing goal against…. Confidence is nice – but also have to be accountable/responsible.
hey Jeff, don't sweat it, Wings fans are just happy the team is worth talking about. we're used to being patient.
Flames 2nd best player suspended, Oilers 2nd best player hurt….wow. it's too funny
This is good for the oilers. Adversity builds character and molds boys into men. Orrrr it completely dismantles the team's mental aspect. I'd rather remain optimistic.
Some guys have got to step up. Will Edm have roster depth? Another verse, same song of lukewarm play even before the injury
Why is there no visuals here seems almost lazy I know it’s radio but for this space I’m sure you could stretch to two cameras?
Probably the most famous case of a coach pulling an "injured" goalie for a time out was game 5, 1982 playoffs, Islanders vs. Pittsburgh. Islanders down 2 goals in the 3rd period in the deciding game. The Islanders lose, no dynasty. Al Arbour pulled Billy Smith, put in Rollie Melanson. Melanson got the warm up, played one shift, faced no shots, and Arbour put Smith back in. The Islanders scored two late goals, tied the game, won in OT and went on to win their 3rd straight cup. I think the rule was passed that summer denying goalies a warm up. So it should be called the "Al Arbour Rule". I had seen coaches pull this trick before that, but it was Arbour doing it in that situation, and how it changed the tide of that game, that forced the rule change.
Odds out of Vegas said that the Oil were top contenders for the Cup, why? Two players that light it up, now they're down 50% of their total output with one player gone.
Concerning R. Andersson's 4-game suspension and the Department of Player Safety, I would say that anybody, and I mean anybody, could be more consistent than that entity. I watched Sam Bennett intentionally injure Matthew Knies with a non-hockey play in the playoffs last year, and the DOPS didn't even acknowledge it. I watched Cale Makar concuss a defenseless Jared McCann and get a one-game suspension. Both players were out for the rest of their series. How long a player is injured doesn't come into account for how long they suspend a player. Of course Andersson should have been suspended! Four games?! Where did that come from? I think it was 4 games to intentionally keep Andersson out of the Heritage Classic. Accountability is not considered important in the NHL front offices, that is for sure. Pathetic and unprofessional.
Maybe, perhaps, possibly…the incestuous, in-bred, nepotistic Management Team, isn't the answer. Given ALL the MANY fabulous draft picks the Oilers have had over the years…what have the Oilers won? From GMs, Coaches (and assistants), Drafts, Trades, Players, Trades and Executives…is this an Old Buys Club with a secret handshake? From the ex-Hockey Canada executives on down, this Organization needs an over-haul. IF a Company doesn't meet it's objectives and fails uear after year, people lose their jobs. Really and truly, this Franchise needs to be better…MUCH BETTER!!!!
I felt inspired and motivated.🌺
Oilers need to send Evander Kane down to the American league and bring up a younger player with drive and some decent hockey skills. All Kane knows how to do is get in fights that cost his team power play goals. Same as his play in San Jose. He's not good enough to play with other Edmonton players with proper skill levels and he'll hurt this team without McDavid out there scoring regularly. Replace him now and watch this team grow.
I hope Edmonton's management and scouting dept has been keeping up to date for such emergencies, i guess now we'll see if Mcleod, Ryan, Pederson, Lavoie, etc and the rest of the Edmonton centers are ready for transition.
RIP peter forsberg's spleen
Terrible analysis of Detroit. These guys have no idea how a winning hockey team is built, which figures when your a Canadian hockey fan. Deteoit did not have the luxury of drafting 1 or 2 in the draft like Ottawa Toronto and Edmonton have, the prospect pool was annihilated by holland, stevie had no choice but to slowly rebuild, he did so, and no one is happy because they forget the past. This is how good franchises do it who dont get the luxury of a high draft pick thanks to not sucking so hard and thanks to the "lottery" which shocker the minute the NHL implemented it they never won: add some veterans, stockpile draft picks, and sign your superstar Captain to a long term contract, and btw theres a guy whos name is raymond who is pretty good, debrincat is only 25, and they have 4 guys who've already played last year and who will slowly replace the veterans as they age. Theres depth and healthy competition in Detroit so suck it canada, your teams cant make the finals even when they're handed top 3 draft picks either through being total garbage or through the magic if the lottery for a decade. These are just two jealous homers who can't stand that an American franchise does it right, and will soon be just as good and probably better than both Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto because they're in love with names and not cups.
When your paid millions, you better get your ass out there and play. No excuses.
Agree on bye week in playoffs. Only perk is to heal up. But when you skip high level play takes to long to get back before your eliminated
