  1. Kings were better last year as won over Boston Bruins who were President Trophy Record. Bruins goalie outplayed Talbot who was weak in net as usual. I feel like I"m back in the 90s with Glenn Healy along with another guy having GAA over 4. Kempe needs to have a better person on line as is utterly useless on the off wing when it comes to defense. Unless he is scoring goals its not going to work with Byfield who can't. Chemistry for lines don't carry over for each season. Pacific is worse than expected or LA would be in trouble. Edmonton has not won against a team from Canada but will probably have new coach for Thanksgiving ;). Lack of Goal Scoring with stronger Central is main concern. I think Central sends 5 teams. Forbust getting 2 points would take him 2 years for LAK. I don't think Vancouver will stay in top 3. First Losing Streak :).

  2. Hey Eddie, Thanks for remarking on my question regarding putting Spence as a forward…. I am starting to wonder if the 1-3-1 is just not the best strategy for the team the Kings have. It seems to me that there is a trend carrying over from last season that the kings end up chasing the puck whenever they are playing top tier teams with speed. These teams dump it into the Kings zone and then just use their speed to get to the puck before the kings do. If the Kings do not find a way to adjust to this rather than stick to the 1-3-1 when it is not working then I do not see the kings moving past the first round again. Your season record matters not if you can't compete with Vegas, Colorado or Edmonton.

  3. Great show, Eddie. I agree with the ups and downs. Hopefully we can gel a bit more before Vegas. I think that will be a heck of a game. Go Kings Go.

  4. We play the Coyotes on Tuesday. When Durzi got traded I predicted Durzi will have more points than Doughty, Spence or Clarke this season. He’s already off to a great start. I won’t be at all surprised if he shows us Tuesday what a mistake it was to make that trade !!!

  5. The Bad: The sheer volume of Bruins jerseys in the lower bowl at Crypto that game. I don’t know what the Kings policy is, if they even have one, but they need to address the amount of season ticket holders that are selling their tickets to recoup their season ticket package costs.

It is seriously embarrassing that Crypto is turning into Honda Center North with opposing teams fans nearly equaling our own team’s fans. Some may think with what tickets cost now, the fans should have every right to sell their tickets but this is part of that same exact reason ticket prices continue to rise, because existing season ticket holders will sell their tickets to the higher demand games which means there are less tickets to go around for those really hardcore fans that are faithful to actually showing up and cheering on the team at home games.

  6. I'm wondering if the Kings are like Englund's fighting skills. He can dominate lower level and non-fighters but when it comes to the real tough ones, he is no longer elite. The Kings beat the Jest and Mild pretty handily but the undefeateds stayed undefeated. Of coarse, if Phillip actually scores and doesn't hit the post, perhaps it's a different game but it's just a but. I'm thinking that they need to put Byfield as the 4C, Lizotte can sit, and try another forward on 1L, maybe Moore. Byfield was good at first on that top line last season but things went downhill in the playoffs and he isn't doing a whole lot to get Kempe and Kopi chances at the net. Something for Mclelz to think about.

In other Kings' former prospect news: Villalta has a .934 save% in Tuscon after 3 games. I remember in Ontario, he improved every year but it seemed the Kings never though of him as someone who can be an NHL tender. Another mismanagement of prospects perhaps. After 5 games, I will just say that this is Todd's time to shine and show he can beat these top tier teams because I'll I've heard in the off-season was that the Kings are right there to win it all.
