  1. When McDavid was out before I recall the Oilers winning, it's a team, McDavid isn't the team, there's alot of great players on that team. This team will pull it together they did before and they will again. And if they don't there's always next year! Go Oilers Go for tomorrow game.

  2. The Oilers are different without four players.
And without McJesus they’ve shown that they’re not winning the Cup.
Naturally the time to panic is five games in.

  3. For anyone coming off an injury but especially for mcdavid, a classic type game is the worst possible game to come back in. Too many risks and unknowns

  4. Lol let’s see if he’s the 2nd best player in hockey. Shouldn’t be a problem but everyone knows hes not a franchise player. Neither is 100 pt nuge

  5. I honestly think they relay on Mcdavid too much, maybe this kind of thing helps wake them up, makes them play harder. because this team is the very example of why throwing talent at something doesn't automatically mean you are going to win, the leaf's are great example of that. They need to play as a team, they need to find cohesion, discipline, even at the coaching level. Too much relays on mcdavid atm, and I think it takes the pressure off the rest of team, which is not what you want, they all should be feeling the pressure, they all should be carrying the load together. Not juts skinner, or just Draisaitl, all of them

  6. It’s been lousy from the start. I don’t think Connor McDavid was playing well to begin with. Other teams were able to play physical and hard on him. He’s a physical player himself but he wasn’t getting his usual rhythm and chances. Neither was Leon. Let’s face it! It a huge blow to lose him period to any injury even if it’s 1-2 weeks. But, the system wasn’t working properly and certain players failed to show up like Connor Brown, Evander Kane and Evan Bouchard. Boguarts was a loss in FA. They need more scoring wingers who play physical as well plus better stay Home defenseman. Too many players made ridiculous mistakes like Nurse, Wayne Foggel. and Evander Kane. Taking dumb penalties. Leon Draisaitl hasn’t been able to score as much as he did last season. Same for McDavid. It’s like other teams stole players playbooks. It’s a loss for McDavid but hopefully he gets better and heals quickly and returns to his old form. He also was wrong to say “Cup or Bust” . It put too much pressure on him and his teammates. He’s only entering his prime. It’s hard now to win in this league. That’s why the salary cap was a joke. It didn’t help Canadian teams. I don’t see any other team out there dominating except for Vegas and Gary Buttman loves his Vegas Golden Girls or McNuggets. Maybe he owns them. It’s a shame for McDavid that he will miss the Heritage Classic S he was so looking forward to the game. Maybe Edmonton medical can put extra padding on his back and injury area to help him play that game. We shall see. The rest of the team needs to step up immediately if they want to succeed.

  7. If Leon salvaged this stretch, he will go for 20M AAV. That's up from the 15M I believe he will steal from the oil field. And that's the massive issue in that organization. They lack all organizationsal depth. A reverse sid you can say.

One day his back will snap and will leave the oilers back to poverty. Don't let him pull a Lebron James. Give him the support he deserves

  8. How about Edmonton trading Evander Kane and prospects to Washington for TJ Oshie. Now that’s a player Edmonton could use.

  9. This may be the best thing to happen to Edmonton. If they can learn again, to win without McDavid, they'll be that much better when he returns. These coming weeks, will determine the season this team is going to have.

  10. I'm excited to see the Heritage Classic again and that just brings up a lot of questions

Who would be a better Alberta Team in the Heritage Classic?
Who got the most wins? And so on so on.
For History, this is going to be their 3rd Heritage Classic, Edmonton hosted the First Heritage Classic and lost against Montreal Canadiens, Calgary host the Second Heritage Classic and won against Montreal Canadiens, Edmonton played in Winnipeg and won, Calgary played in Saskatchewan and lost in Overtime against Winnipeg
Both are 1-1 and only one of them will get 2-1 & 1-2
    Who will win?
We'll find out on Sunday October 29th

  11. Finally someone willing to say Draisatl is a star of his own making. Yes him and McDavid are phenomenal when playing together, but Draisatl has the makings of legends and he doesn’t need to be in McDavids shadow. I’m tired of everyone asking him questions about Connor, all day and no one asking Leon about his own accomplishments. Yes he’s extremely humble but come on, give the man a medal! We wouldn’t be the Oilers without him or the rest of the boys!

  12. I'm an Avs fan and honestly don't give two shits about Edmonton but at the same time I want to see McDavid win a Cup and every year it seems something gets in his way or the teams way

  13. Either way rogers place is a deathtrap , we are at the highest level of terror attack alert.

  14. The oilers are terrible. Tbey always were. Without their top 2, they're easily amonsgt the worst teams in the league

  15. Well the jolt you say they need… this may be it. I remember how good Draisaitl was when McDavid was out before, I don't doubt he can lead this team. We've seen him do it already as you have said. Also we've seen it in the past. In the 93/94 season when Stevie Y went down, Fedorov had the best year of his career posting 56 goals and 120 points. Then in the 11/12 season when Crosby went down Malkin stepped up with his second best season posting 50 goals and 109 points. I'm sure there's other examples but those are the first two to come to mind for me. (Yes I did have to look up the numbers. I only actually remembered the situations.) But this kinda makes the point that, as important as he is to the team, the fans, the league, the Oilers are not Connor McDavid. Can they win a cup without him? Possible but not probable. So the silver lining for this unfortunate situation for the Oil is… Now everyone has to be better. Everyone has to step up and show Draisaitl that they got his back. This is where we find out how bad they want it…

  16. Trade that guy and with the $$$$$, get a zillion other MUCH NEEDED players in return. Superstars and salary caps kill a team (unless they take much less salary).

  17. Though i'm not a fan of the Oilers…but come playoffs season i cheer them on b/c they've seemed to be Canada's current only hope to bring the Stanley Cup back to Canada where it belongs.

  18. Actually, they had 2 bad games, and 3 good games. Not good enough for a team that is considered to be a Stanley Cup contender, but not an utter disaster, given it is this early in the season.

  19. I wonder if this is just a Jedi mind trick from McDavid… The team sucks and no matter what he does he can’t pull this team to where it needs to be, it can’t just be a few players holding the bag for an NHL team. He gets “injured” and sees what they’re made of without him then BOOM! He’s ready to go for the Heritage Classic, the team and the fans get fired up and they can forget all about the first few games of the year.

  20. So sad that mcpussy is to big of a bitch to play seen this coming now that hes slowing down a bit hes all the sudden hurt lmao edmonton will sell him anyway thats what they do

  21. Anyone remember last year when the Oilers beat the Pens and McDavid got hurt during that game? Drai had a phenomenal game (that toe drag back-hand goal he scored was nuts), they played great without him in that game. They're gonna have to play like that again, they can do it.
