  1. I dont think it has to be greig vs pinto. I think pinto could play wing with norris and batherson and drive the net. Hes a big body with good hands in tight, great for rebounds. He can be a more defensive, less physical Brady on that 2nd line. Then you can keep greig tarasenko and joseph together since they are rolling really well as a unit. Joseph plays well with good players and hes got good players to play with.

  2. I agree with a lot of what your saying about DeBrincat but whatching him hes skating way better this year hes buzzing around the ice he wasnt as much in Ottawa especially defensively and Detroit hasnt played any good goalies yet really a lot of backups and meh starters

  3. Debrincat is yesterday’s news. His first game back is now done so let’s turn the page. It accomplishes nothing to keep hashing it out. Would of, could of, should of. Let’s move on!

  4. I dont care about Debrincat….the difference has playing 1st line everything. In Ottawa he was 2nd line everything. If someone doesn't want to be in Ottawa then c ya

  5. What if Ottawa is getting a solid vet in return for Pinto?? Does that change your mind? I like Pinto but this NEEDS to come to an end one way or another

  6. I love Greig but it's such a small sample size, the question is if he can play like that for a whole season. Pinto already proved himself with 20 goals. HOwever I think we need to keep both.

  7. Wings fan — Love the work you guys do. Enjoy checking in on your stuff, both here and on Twitter.

I think it’s a bit disingenuous to come out right after the game and say the Wings won’t be a playoff team. I wouldn’t be so sure about that. And guys like Edvinsson, Kasper, Danielson, Cossa, Pellikka not even in the fold yet. I think the best of this team will come 2-3 years down the line.

That being said, I LOVE this Sens team and core. I would feel just as good if not better about Ottawa compared to Detroit. I’m excited about this rivalry — if you can call it that — for years to come.

Good luck this season. I think you’ll have a good year.

  8. Wings fan here – I think I agree with you on the even up call being the reason the Debrincat hit was called. That both PP's scored caused the continual game management and Detroit obviously won off of special teams.

I would say Ottawa has a better top 6 but Detroit has the better bottom 6 and as of right now Detroit might have a slightly better defense overall (based on early season play, not personnell on paper). I do think the difference in Detroits bottom 6 vs Ottawa's might be larger than the difference in the top 6 units based on what the Detroit's second line is actually built to be. That said, the top 6 star power when running for Ottawa should probably come out on top a lot of the time until more of Detroit's prospects come in. If Cossa keeps learning how to dominate at each level the goalie might be the long term difference.

  9. The special teams difference was glaring, but even if you delete all four PP goals, Detroit still wins 2-1 on a Joe Veleno goal. Agree the officiating was dreadful. I hated the penalty call on Veleno early, the call on Greig, and the call on Chiarot. 11 penalty calls and it wasn't even all that sloppy a game. The early soft call that Sanderson scored on was an absolute MUFFIN of a hit behind the Sens net that happens 100x a game and isn't called.

For me, the decisive factor in the game was defensive zone coverage, which is kind of a theme for the Sens the past few years. In short, Detroit's was better and as a result Detroit had higher quality shots, though obviously fewer of them. Korpisalo faced some shots in which he had no real chance. On another note, the Sabres look weak…crush the goatheads!

  10. Wings fan here – I Enjoy listening to others chat about it. Sens got a great team. I think wings got dominated in the 1st. But 2nd and 3rd periods I think the Wings controlled a ton of play. Soft calls on both sides. What's not being said is Lalonde out coached the Sens. He prepared the wings from that 2 game embarrassment last year. Good stuff. Feel bad for BUF. It's early still but they need to figure out what's going on. Completely baffled that BOS has let in 7 goals in 5 games… Didn't expect that.

  11. Both Detroit and Ottawa have played bad teams other than each other and the Devil/Canes. Watch, come end of the season they will be 2 and 3 in the division battling it out in the first round. And you can quote me on that

  12. Welcome to being relevant! The haters will come out in full force, but remember you have MORE followers who truly appreciate and support all of the hard work that you guys do.

  13. I read somewhere that Debrincat hit the post 15 times last year.! That's like 8 goals avg he would had to the plus. That's 27+8 = 35 not bad.
