If anything I feel like the longer we’re underrecognized, the more it works in our favor. Like if Jack is the odds-on favorite all year then if his numbers don’t dominate McDavid’s people will be disappointed. But if they don’t notice until halfway through the season that he’s leading the league in points then the more impressed they’ll be if he wraps up the season that way. It’s not just the jinx, it’s not just tasteful, it’s all that and also just more fun than agonizing all year over statistics. Surprise me with a hard case at the trade deadline, then I’ll get pumped. Meanwhile he’s playing awesome and pretty good team hockey in general. I’ll take more of that heading into the playoffs, not worried about the stats
