The whole idea of someone jumping to hit in hockey is a lot harder to do and analyse. If he jumped it would be more noticeable when he hits the ice from the snap in momentum and change in his center of gravity. That all being said it wasn't a clean hit due to and the defender not adjusting, he could have just laid his shoulder rather than skating through him

Too high.
5+GM, Checking to the Head. The head is clearly the main point of contact and it was picked by Gilbert's poor angle of approach.
Also I think you could claim that his feet left the ground – you cannot jump into a hit
not intentional, but did hit a bit high.
high hits seemed to be a Calgary way in this game
3 out of 5 Troubas. The form was a little shaky, but he did get the head while leaving his feet. 5 + 2 games to think about it.
Scott Stevens said he doesn't give a f*ck!

stop it on initial contact frame. very clearly shoulder to jaw. no good. suspension.
Scott Stevens would approve, but clearly illegal by today's standards.
How come all clips lately seem to be Flames players hunting headshots on Bluejackets players 🤔
Clearly aiming for the head with no interest in hitting the body. 5 games.
