There's a pattern with the Flyers..we keep bringing in vets and inheriting their injuries. Ellis is a paperweight at best. Staal. He's still good but it'd be nice to have a solid top pair that can suit up every game. Though we're in a rebuild, I think we can be a good team. If we stay healthy I really think we will be biting the heals of 8th seed. We might not make the playoffs, but we will eat up our rivals points. I'd love to see Pittsburgh end early again.
I'd love to see us make the playoffs, or win a lot of games… but that really isn't the point of this season. This season is a time to start building chemistry for those guys who will be around a long time as well as a time for cusp guys to learn and grow and either become long term players on the team or decent trade bait to continue gathering picks or players. I expect us to be a playoff team next year and in 2 years after that to be a Cup contender. If your expectations are higher, then you are setting yourself up for disappointment. And if it happens sooner, no one will be happier than me.
