Hopefully when Heinola comes back Chevy trades Stanley make room for him idek what we get like 5th round pick or Appleton+Stanley+ for Garland or another player to be on Lowrys line.
As far as Schmidt situation he makes almost 6m and Pionk makes 6m 12million on those 2 guys.
When jets/flyers were discussing Sanheim/Provorov trade it was reported they would take Schmidt contract back but wanted a top prospect.
Idk would you do a bad contract for bad contract Myers type for Schmidt? Maybe can get more from someone else like Montreal did trading Petry for Matheson.

If we can make a huge trade I know Chevy wouldn't do it. Like a 1st/2nd+RosterDmanPionk/Schmidt+One of those top prospects or b guys like Zhilkin,torgersson,Gustafson,nikkanen,lundmark,Bauer,Wagner. In a major deal for top 2 dman to play with Morrissey.
Idk who would be or come here but every top dman has a legit #2 Hedman/Sergachev,Makar/Toews/Girard/Byram,Fox/Trouba,Karlsson/Letang.
I don't think Rick has a problem with his playstyle or has any particular dislike for Schmidt. It's just that simple — Schmidt falls short in the most vital moments when the game is on the line time and again. It's almost a guarantee if he absolutely has to make a play and it's entirely on him he fumbles it.
It seems more like a composure and confidence issue with him — but it's a chronic issue that honestly if you go back and watch the vegas series from last playoffs we may have made it to game 7 if it wasn't for him. The amount of times he passes the puck DIRECTLY to the opposing team is so heart breaking – it's gotta take the wind out of the team too. It happens to everyone but like I said with Schmidt it's a chronic condition.
Remember when we had Byfuglien, Morrissey, Trouba, Myers, Chiarot & Kulikov.. Those were the days.
I don't think Schmidt is that bad… Do we really need to buy him out or trade him..

Nahh jets got here….. One name.. He retired. And not like he retired in the summer. Hey just before camp. Ville is good.. But just Cole P.. Not big/ strong enough for the NHL.
Personally id much rather see chisholm play for a bit over schmidt and stanley. See what hes capable of at the top level
Schmitt isn’t a bad defense man, he is good in locker room, makes others smile
