Jason Robertson opens the scoring for the Dallas Stars and everyone followed to take down the Penguins 4-1 who have no lost three straight games. In today’s episode of Locked On Stars, Joey recaps the 4-1 Stars win on the road and gives huge props to Robertson and the penalty killing units contributing to the win. Also, Thomas Harley played his best game of the year and picked up a goal and an assist, Evgenii Dadanov scored his first of the season and Matt Duchene picked up his first point at a Star. Then the PK and Jake Oettinger helped shutdown the Penguins which allowed the Stars to go on the hunt and create offense more consistently than we’ve seen early on this year. The show wraps up crediting Pete DeBoer for shaking up the lines a bit in order to get some different looks that paid off in the end. The Stars head back home and face the Maple Leafs on Thursday.

We know the line mixing was situational, but I'd like to see more testing with that during this part of the season. I don't think the lines we saw today are quite ideal for PDB's preferred loadout though. He likes having multiple faceoff guys on a line and Mush on the 4th technically messes with that. Even though I love Delly on the Johnston line, especially for his development, I'd really like to see Mush get time on that line just to see if they can help revive his offense since it looks like Seggs/Duchy aren't working well with him. Theoretically he should be able to perform similarly to how Delly does on that line.
The power play needs to get better going forward. Jake Oettinger kept them in the game to win it, made some big saves steady as a rock between the pipes. Stop turning the puck over, those cause odd man rushes or two on ones. One thing that seems to be important to them is having a good start to the season, staying close to the Colorado Avalanche and VGK. Pete Debore actually made some line changes in the second half switched it up moved some guys around and won the game.
