Joshua Roy With Amazing 5 Point Night! 10-20-23

Joshua Roy picked up his first ever hattrick in the AHL as he picked up 2 assists in what has been an outstanding start to his pro career so far. Sean Farrell picked up his 1st of the season as he and Roy showed they work well on the ice together. I was impressed with Filip Mesar as well as he showed he can really dish the puck and skate so well.

Jakub Dobes was shaky again in his 2nd start as Laval has now given up 20 goals in just 4 games, ouch.

Dobes – stopped 35 of 39 1st AHL Win
Roy – 3 goals, 2 assists, 5 shots, 2 pims, +3
Farrell – 1 goal, 1 assist, 2 shots, +1
Condotta – 1 goal, 1 assist, 3 shots, +3
Struble – 1 assist, +5
Mesar – 1 assist, 2 shots, Even
Trudeau – 1 assist, 1 shot, 7 pims, +1
Mysak – 1 assist, 1 shot, Even

  1. Nice for Roy. But based on those clips, I was even more impressed with Farrell. Looks like this game was his coming out party.

  2. Roy poise is just on another level, he look nhl ready right now. the way he protect the puck on the condotta goal and the second and third goal are ridiculous. the game is not fast at all for him, which is very impressive for a guy with 4 pro games under his belt.

  3. Roy is a super smooth operator. This kid belongs on the Habs.
Farrell and Trudeau had great games as well. Trudeau gets 1st PP duties and has a good all-around game with good size and physicality.

  4. Keep your head down to earth, keep being consistent, keep progressing and you'll be there sooner than later.

  5. I get some Simon Gagne vibes out of Roy…he's going to look good in our top 6 maybe even as soon as this year with the Dach injury.

JI hate…

  8. incroyablle joshua toy,
mais il vient de st goerge de beauce et non de ste marie… you should know

  9. Funny how I said to watch out for Roy at training camp, that he was a sleeper, a scorer and play maker close to NHL level and people's comment were that I don't know nothing about hockey and that Roy was a 2 way player but not a scorer lol. The kid filled up the net at every level he played.

  10. Aaannnndddf they call up armia the day after

Sometimes Hughes make weird moves, but he's nontheless a very good GM

  11. Could not agree more. He was a difficult player for me to project in junior because he lacks thae dynamic, eye catching qualities his production suggests. However, he is smooth, has great hands, shot and makes the game slow down in a way few can. He is such a smart player who finds the quiet ice and is calm with the puck on his stick. I know see where his game is projectable. He's a top 6, 2 way winger with 70 point potential imo. Very much a winger version of Nick Suzuki with a better shot.

  12. I’d still leave him in the AHL all season! Let him dominate in Laval and next year he’ll have a spot on the Habs
