The New Jersey Devils beat the New York Islanders 5-4 in their recent matchup. Jack Hughes scored the game-winning goal in overtime and PK Subban was impressed yet again. However, the big storyline was Nico Hischier getting hurt in period two. It was assumed that it was caused due to a physical play by Ryan Pulock. There’s some good news in regard to his injury.

Nico was also hit hard in the first period by Clutterbuck which Siegenthaler retaliated for and Nico took a hard cross-check from Cizikas. So it could have been a combination off those hits that led to the injury.
I remember an interview from when Nico was on the Mooseheads and they talked about how hard it is to stop Nico and they even asked Nico what he would do and he said just to play physical and hit him. He literally told people to hit him if they want to stop him. In hindsight, not a good idea.
You also have to think about how a power play goal can turn the tide in a game. They can't always afford to fight or retaliate and end up losing the game. They'd rather win the game in end. I don't think Nico would want the guys to fight and end up with one of them getting hurt or losing the game because they came to his defense.

They do Nico dirty in every single freaking game. Hughes gets protected cause of his superstar status, but you can clearly see opposing teams hate Hischier the most cause he's so annoying to play against.

Devils should Thank Pelech for that win as he was abysmal for a Plus 2 too :). That Tyler Toffoli PPG he let him get that on Net like that hah. I"ll admit I cheered as he was 2nd Favorite player on Kings when had That 70s Line with Carter my Favorite then Pearson Third. Surreal to see Quick Win Game 4 to 1 for Rangers when won series in 5 in 2014 heh. I saw him play against Nashville too. I"m always rooting for Igor to get pulled for JQ. Pelech didn't defend a pass on another PPG. Then he took a bad penalty that Sorokin saved or would have scored there. Then a weak Delay of Game Player :). PK Subban woudl approve of how he played Defense of the Islanders I'm sure :). Lots of undersized guys on Jersey. Casey I think gave a cross check to Nico in that game. Though his other penalty I think was really Matt Martin ;). Not STick No Ability hehe ;).
