Stevie is so professional and knows exactly what he’s doing. I know they’re not expecting much from this next season but Detroit never fails to get me excited every summer for what could be! And with our beloved Captain at the helm, I have high hopes for what’s to come!!!

Yzerman will forever be a Motown Legend! In Stevie We Trust!! If ANYBODY out there know the struggle of a rebuild and the agony of defeat in consecutive tough seasons it's Yzerman. Not just as a GM, [looking at you Tampa] but also as a player. Cpt./GM Steve is the BEST person for the job along with Drapes, D-Mac on social media, Cpt. Nick keeping eyes out abroad and many others! I finally feel like the boys are back and in control.
therefore, the space in the salary cap has been cleared so that they can be used for real top players that enable the team to succeed … Successful teams need real top players who set an example for other promising players. Now we don't have any real top players on the team. The closest to top player status are Mantha and Bertuzzi. Larkin is not the leading center when comparing real top centers in the NHL..
Yzerman used the money only for mediocrity even if there were how many real top players on offer..
What Steve is doing by signing these guys is not just improving the team, it’s also putting the pressure on Jeff. No more can he use not having good enough players as an excuse for being at the bottom of the league. If this team doesn’t finish in the 70-80 point range next season. His eyes will be on Jeff and he might be replaced by the following season if not at the end of the upcoming season.
When you brought in Stevie Y you decided to take the long road. He's gonna rebuild the farm system and coaching staff. He'll look for players that fit that system. It's gonna be 5-8 years before the true fruits of his labor show. This coming from a Tampa Bay Lightning fan. Glad you guys got your boy back. Redwings need to be good. It's just good for hockey. (that being said, I didnt like the term given to Mcdonaugh. Stevie Y handed that out on his way out)

You don't go into the lions den whistling Dixie. 5 years red wings fans…..atleast 5 years until the red wings win a playoff round in dominating fashion. I'll tell u this though. He already makes shanahan and the leafs look bad.
