[Friedman] Morgan Frost is a little different. Philadelphia just re-signed him, have invested a lot of time in him, and he was fourth in team scoring last season. But if he doesn’t play — just two appearances so far — something will have to give.

It is dumbfounding that 2 games into a rebuild we already have to worry that Torts has written off Frost because of 2 sub-par games.

For those of you who didn’t stay awake during the Vegas game, the ESPN crew was talking in the 3rd period about how 4th lines these days are so skilled and that the typical grinder 4th line is dead. Meanwhile Tortorella has locked in the PHD Line and refuses to accommodate our roster to fit in a skilled 24 year old who was one of the team’s top scorers last season.

If Friedman is teasing a trade, I’m going to be very excited.

Just send Forester to the AHL he’s been straight up mid and hasn’t found his offensive game even in preseason. Go play top line in the AHL and call him up when he can find the back of the net again. Frost can actually score and make skill plays at an NHL level. Literally 0 reason for this nonsense. Love Tyson but he straight up hasn’t earned a spot over Frost.

The way I see it, there are 3 issues I take with the way the Frost situation has been handled:

    1) There has 100% been a double standard in terms of “earn your spot” with Frost relative to some of the other players in the lineup

    2) Looking towards the future, it would be way more beneficial to have a player like Frost hit his potential than the majority of the other young players on the roster (this is by far the biggest one for me)

    3) If Tortorella really thinks *this lowly* of Frost, why was he even brought back in the first place?

At the end of the day, every path with every player is different, so I don’t see the point in making some declaration that Tortorella is some huge problem for this. But, from everything we can see and everything we know, this looks like confusing and bad decision making on Tortorella’s part.

Related thought: CLB is trying to move a defenseman and it seems like Risto will be out for awhile. Boqvist and Frost make the exact same amount of money and have both had issues staying in the lineup. 1 for 1 swap..?
