  1. I keep saying it since day 1, but Chicago fans seems to really embrace the idea of being terrible and an unwatchable mess in order to get multiple other Bedard-esque players.

Which to be fair worked for them in the past, maybe even too well, because they thought getting rid of Panarin was a good idea back in those days, even with two nearly a point per game seasons.

  2. This year was never gonna be easy for the Hawks and Bedard. Hawks have plans to tank for another high pick this season. Long term, I think the Blackhawks will build a very strong team around Bedard, but this season, he will have to play with a target painted on his back. When Hall returns, it should help him a bit. Corey Perry is also the type of veteran you want protecting and being on the same line as Bedard. He will be fine in the long run.

  3. Blackhawks don't care. They are tanking for Mack Celebrini. They are not going to loss draft picks just to push Bedard from 50 points to 70 points this year. They know they aren't making the playoffs.

  4. I mean… "[insert rookie here] needs help" is something that happens to every rebuilding team. A top draft pick who makes the team in his draft year will always get focused by bigger guys, will always be knocked off the puck, etc. As far as what that team can do to address the issue? Really, there isn't much.

As a Wings fan, Pinto is only an option if Ottawa can't get a deal done, and I can't imagine that Dorion is quite at the spot where he's sweating much about it right now. That particular deadline is over a month away (1 December). I'm sure they're looking at other trade options so they can get Pinto back on the ice, and moving Pinto would be an "if all else fails" move.

  5. As a Sens fan We should ahve already traded kubalik and signed pino, and even if the hawks do target pinto how is a defensively minded center with goal scoring going to help bedard on the wing

  6. You don’t think anyone had this in mind? What? If you meant to say every single person had this in mind then I agree with you. Not one person said the Hawks would be better than last year. In fact most said they would be worse. You know there are teams with less points right? Bedard needs help? Well, no sh*t Sherlock. There’s an original thought. Did you miss Kyle Davidson said this is going to be a multi year rebuild? Everyone, except you, knows that “help” is on the way, just not this year. Oliver Moore is a man among boys at Minnesota. Plenty of help next year with Moore and Nazar.

  7. The Hawks are bad, no doubt. But it should also be noted/emphasized the team has started the season 5 games on the road and facing some of the best teams in the league. Teams like Boston and Vegas, who are currently undefeated.

Also, can we call the Marchand 'antic' for what it was: blatant interference? I don't know why everyone is having trouble calling it out, especially when it happens right in front of the ref.

And finally, I wouldn't say literally ever other Hawk has played poorly. Mrazek and Soderblom have been good to great.

  8. Let’s not down play the fact the Hawks schedule has been brutal. Their first 8 opponents have a combined record of 41-8-1. A .810 points percentage

  9. Blackhawk's Core D breakout is terrible !! They can't make Bedard skating through.. They can't pass !!!! or dump into open area..
just making turn overs or pass to the place where many opponents exist.
Hope Bedard playing with some good line mates ..
if he has more chances to shoot or linemates can shoot he will double or triple his pts
