  1. Our sport has turned into street hockey. If you really know the sport and put your feelings aside, you know I'm right. If I was coaching this kid wouldn't make it past the 1st period, I'd send out a player like Truba as a heat seaking missile. There is no hitting at all and the defense is terrible (all stick checking ala street hockey). When I watched my sons practices years ago you could see this coming. All players are molded the same plus the goalies. It's sad to see what all sports have turned into.

  2. When players are being forced to fight over clean hits 24/7 nowadays it seems thats opening up a lot of space for smaller guys because game is getting closer to an awkward thing where its almost no-contact except for fights

  3. I’m 5’10 and 185. I can tell you as a little guy, I’m a top 20 player in our local rinks beer league.

  4. Lack of size is less of a concern in the NHL these days. We have transitioned away from the goon era, so hockey today is more skill oriented. Every team has undersized player who excel. They have the ability to avoid the heavy traffic. The concern still remains that a slighter player may not wear well over an entire season but this is losing air as well. These smaller players know where to go and what will not work for them. Any team will work to create good chemistry in their lineup and balance on all lines. There is still a role for the physical player but the skilled players are proving their value more and more.

  5. I still think there is a correlation between big teams and success in the playoffs. Look at Vegas and florida…….

  6. All of the GOATs have been around 5’9 to 6’1. With the exception of 6’6” Mario Lemieux of course. Size doesn’t always translate to skill

  7. Just went over the stats and the 50 smallest players that played in the league during the las 5 seasons almost scored double the points (0,671 P/GP) per game than the 50 biggest players did (0,397 P/GP)

Obviously size can be useful but it is waaaaaay overrated

  8. Cause gretzky was such a physical monster. Size is a myth. Ofcourse it can help but it has never been close to the most important thing

  9. Dude got absolutely rocked tonight and then hospital passed to Ovi for an empty netter

  10. Ok but if there was a 6 foot three guy and a 5 foot10 guy and they
had the same skill would you take,be honest
