Why do Canadiens players keep getting injured? | HI/O Show

  1. this culture of sacrificing your body for the team makes no sense during the season where the teams needs there players the most to get to the stanley cup series. during the playoff the normal 82 games are over so need 16 wins to win the cup right ??

  2. #1 It is a contact, violent sport where fights and cheap shots are tolerated and common, where a solid projectile can be shot at over 100 miles per hour at you at any point and time.

#2 As a result nearly everyone will play injured to a point in a season, also lots of shenanigans can happen for different reasons, for example : Dvorak who we know is healthy needs to wait a couple more weeks to respect the rules of LTIR … everyone knows he wasn’t LTIR material. What is up with Wideman, in the way of too many prospects ? Price is retired in all but name. My favorite is Caufield openly and publicly saying that he could of played despite his injury last season, aka it is a real possibility that multiple players were put on the sideline because the season was done in effort to help the tanking and have them healthier this season.

#3 Unlucky, for the 3rd season in a row.
#4 Our players are more injury prone.
#5 Team Medical Staff are more honest.
#6 Acquiring players with injury history.

  3. The NHL needs to change the rule so that the whistle is blown if your skate blows up like that. It's dangerous otherwise as Savard's injury demonstrates.

The Canadiens need to stop taking so many penalties. And of course, as we all know, they have to improve the PP and PK.

  4. We brought in a new training staff from the New York Rangers where they had a relatively low injury rate. So, it’s not that players aren’t in shape. I have the answer to this puzzle.

Has anyone else noticed that whenever something bad occurs in every Montreal game coach St Louis reacts as if he’s just lost his best friend. So why the overreaction? I think a pall has been cast over the team by the Punditry’s ridiculously pessimistic predictions for this team’s prospects, notwithstanding the objective fact that the team is loaded. Given the negative punditry it’s surprising this team doesn’t lose every game.
