Great win! Boys were buzzing – Chytil and Mika remain snakebitten but the goals will come!

Laffy with some very nice moves out there, Wheeler had a great game, Cuylle was robbed 🙁

Solid effort, aside from a bit of fuckery in the first, we played great. If Skinner wasn’t playing pretty well this easily could’ve been 5-0 or 6-0 for us lol

    Onto the Canucks!

  2. geesusway

Benoit Allaire could turn me into a Vezina winner and I’ve never touched a hockey stick in my life

  3. kiddocontay

    Good win boys. Dominant.

Bed time, I hate these western trips.

    Let’s go Rangers.

  4. misterlakatos

I’ll move on from 2014 as soon as this squad wins a Cup with Quick on the roster.

Regardless, that was a great win and we always seem to play well in Western Canada.

  5. DrFrocktopus

It’s really amazing how Edmonton has been consistently unable to build a competitive team around McDavid and Draisaitl. They look really bad without McDavid.

  6. Benoit Allaire is a sorcerer. There’s no other explanation.

  7. Laviolette decided “their best player isn’t playing tonight, so ours won’t either” and then Quick gets the shutout. super happy about this win

  8. TheIncredibleHork

    We snuffed out the flames.

Then we ran the oilers dry.

Saturday we revoke Willy’s get out of jail free card.

    Let’s go!!!!!

  9. NoeyBalbonzers

What a game. Quick played great. Oilers got a few chances but the rangers really shut them down. And yes it should have been 4-0. No matter the team that scored like Cuylle did, it was a good goal.

Since Fast was quickie, that means quick has gotta be fast. Please help get the word out.

  11. explosivebuttfarts

In my eyes, Cuylle pivoted his skate blade through interacting with the puck, then after contact his foot kicked towards the direction the puck was traveling. Good goal. All refs smoke crack

  12. aronaussy

Who else came into this season with absolutely no expectations and are currently riding the high train with everything literally going right???

  13. will122589

The Rangers who have basically sucked in the second period for the entirety of my fandom (almost 20 years now, Christ I feel old at 33 lol) being a dominant second period is such a new experience for me.

Being guaranteed a winning West coast road trip is a great thing to have especially with two more games to go. Get another one of the next two before going home will be good, getting both would be mint.

Winning a game 4-0 is always nice

    Fucking light work.

Quick with a casual shutout, Foxy with a casual one-timer, Schneids with the casual snipe, and Laffy with a casual one-timer of his own. Like I said in the game thread; Edmonton has some issues to sort out. They’re kind of a paper tiger without McDavid. Works for us though that was probably the most easily won game this season thus far. Great effort from the whole team, didn’t really notice any goofy plays, or excessively bad giveaways. On to Vancouver gentlemen!

    See ya Saturday fellas!

Looking like a really complete team right now. D has played well. Goalies look great. Generating offense throughout basically all the lines. Hope they keep it up!

  16. I gotta say. Quick makes some saves look quite easy. Not sure if that’s a sign he’s confident and on his game, or he really is that good. He’s got those cat like reflexes. In any case, it’s great we have two really good goalies, and now a much better defense.

  17. Sjdillon10

Wait till Mika starts playing to Mika’s standards. We look good even without him playing up to par

  18. I just love the Chytil / Bread / Laffy line and I like that Lav likes the line a lot too.

  19. Very satisfied with how the team played tonight, and great call by Benny and Lavvy to start Quick tonight against a struggling, McDavid-less Oilers squad. Once again came through with a pretty complete effort with all lines looking pretty good. Shoutout to Schneider who’s started to look better in the last few games.

Last thing, Gerard Gallant should be in jail for keeping Laf off the right side—not comfortable, my ass. He just wanted an excused to run Hunt, Goodrow, Vesey in the top 6.

*anime guy letting go of the butterfly meme*

    Is LaFreniere breaking out?

  21. Tommybrady20

I swear hockey makes me bipolar.

That Nashville 4-1 total no show was a week ago today.

Aaaand now we’re first in the metro lmao

  22. Sjdillon10

God i love vally talking about shit none of us know about

  23. Also, Schneider had a goal and an assist tonight and Cuylle had a goal that somehow they pretended wasn’t a goal.

Even the non-kid kids looked good

  24. Jokercard08

    Let the good times roll

After the absolute dumpster fire against Nashville this team looks completely different.

They finally look like a team and not a collection of players. Crazy what a difference one year can make.

Crazy what treating your 1OA as someone important and not some plug and play 4th line nobody can do for his confidence

  25. MrBigChest

I got married today and this game was still the highlight of my day

  26. I had this long conversation with my buddy about Kane and tbh at this point I don’t want him

  27. NoFlags-JoeBuck

Thought K’Andre played very well defensively tonight

On this episode of ***Rangers After Dark***: ***Oilers Sick but not Quick,*** The night leading into a game against a wounded animal w/o their best player, the Rangers introduced to the Oilers the “Hot French Bread” connection, and it made the Oilers slip and slide as if there was an oil spill on the ice.

1st Period: Lots of odd man rush chances for both team. The Oilers wanted to open up the Rangers and play that style of hockey. The Oilers were’nt able to get their pp going but they were able to control the rangers north/south this period. Rangers had to improve going into the 2nd.

2nd Period: Carried over into the next period, JQ decided to throwback the clocks and make save after save, and after save. Bad defensive breakdowns. But instead of talking about the negatives, the positives for the Rangers came. Power play, Bread w/a beaut of a pass to Adam Fox to bury the chance. Adam Fox, (whispers) it’s a power play goal! Foxy Clean, Foxy Smooth, Foxy Scores! Eat your heart out Dougie. The rest of the period, the Rangers looked like they could have blown the Oilers out of the province of Alberta and into the Northwest Territory. But Stuart Skinner(the Oilers best play on the night ironically) kept them in the game until the Saskatchewan kid Braden Schnieder with a snipe! Top Shelf! The Oiler fans were restless, until the hottest line in the league no one is talking about except us(Ranger fans) Bread serving up an apple to Laf. Chytil looked good too. 3-0 the crowd was sucked out of it.

3rd Period: Was’nt really that pretty. But it was soul sucking for the Oilers. No life. If only they had a captain to tell their players to wake the fu… oh whoops. Rangers were able to play good defense this period. JQ was able to make big saves in this period.

This game really, was a good performance. Chytil looked like a man possessed w/something. The Rangers were able to shut down Draisaitl like the way Sauce Gardner does it. The Oilers tonight showed to EVERYONE, that they are a hot mess. McDavid is in fact the MVP of the team and league. I really can’t think of anything else to say about this game. But, the Rangers win again! that’s 3 in a row. That’s called a winning streak.

Onto the Canucks. For the end of the first part of ***Rangers After Dark***. Gotta continue this good play. Defensively could be better too. But, happy w/the win and onto the Canucks.

You know who Ranger Oppie texted and said… Take in the Sheets! Another 2 points in the bag.

God Save the King. Back afta dis.

  29. NewUserWorldnews

What a game boys. We had a foxy goal and a Schneider goal. I love that lavi has the defensemen engaged, walking blue lines and jumping up in the cycle, and not just the rush. I was really happy to see that because it gives us endless options and looks.

Laffy is coming into his own, watch out league.
Chytil continues to drive the line and also now is apparently defensively responsible.
Miller had some great stick work.
Wheeler had his best game yet I thought.
I am a little worried about zibby but not too bad.
    Cuylle is a monster.
    Quick looks sound.

Great game can’t wait to see how the rest of the road trip looks

  30. dothingsunevercould

I find it hard to believe that other than the Avs, there is no team with a better defensive unit than ours.

    Fox-Lindgren
    Trouba- KA Miller

is such a formidable top 4. Gus is playing amazing and Schneider hopefully is turning a corner after a mediocre start.
