  1. Let the talking bobble heads under rate and under value Quinn Hughes , these so called experts are talking just to hear their own chatter .

  2. I think he should be at least in the same category as Ekblad and the comment of "Hes the same dude plugging along" is so mean, dismissive and belittling towards Hughes' development as a hockey player. He is not the same guy, he is far better in the dzone now than his rookie season and has improved his point total each year.

Quinn is fresh offhis best season of 76 point season where he averaged 25 minutes a game and a +15.
How did Ekblad do last season? Ekblad put up 38 points and a -14 playing for a cup finalist.
Adam Fox's best season saw him put up 72 points and +28 playing for a much better team.

I would also like Dom to explain the reasoning behind these comments. Why do these scouts think so little of Hughes, and why do they think he is "The same dude plugging along"? Evidence please.

  3. Dom who…. the athletic is actually still writing material? Guess you can find pundits under all sources of rocks

  4. According to the nhl stats, Quinn Hughes is 14th amongs defenceman. Looks like they ranked him too high. No way that could possibly change after all the teams play tonight.

  5. last year he was 'plugging along'. with a year end +15 with 76 points. i'll take that all day and if i could have any d man in the league, makar is the only guy in the league that i would select over quinn.

  6. 6 games? More like the last 2 years. The quotes were really revieling as to how out of touch they were with reality.

  7. Most of the goofs voting on these things are from down east and they're not watching a western game, unless Colorado or Vegas are involved or it's being played in their time zone. Vancouver has struggled when this since I became a fan in 1990. I remember when Hockey Night In Canada would force me to watch the rest of a nothing Leafs game, causing me to miss the first 10 minutes of a Canucks game on the regular. Things seemed to get a little better in the 2000s, but then Rogers took over and it's even worse. East coast rules.

  8. The thing is we know that Hughes is a top 10 dman in the league he showed us that last year when his name was thrown around in vezna conversations. This year so far he’s just solidifying those discussions. Canucks collectively have let in 17 goals this year out of those 17 Quinn has been on the ice for 1 of those. So people that say his defence is subpar you obviously do not watch Canucks hockey or pay attention to the advanced analytics of this team. I seen a tweet the other day of a representation of Hughes Vs dahlin and with Hughes having over 30 games less he has 20 points more and a better plus minus by over 50 goals against yet people still will put dahlin higher because he’s a 6 foot 1st overall dman which makes no sense. Dahlin isn’t a bust he’s a good player but Hughes simply put is more dominant. So it just erks me align with a lot of other Canucks fans especially ones like all of us that watch breakdowns like this that understand the analytics of the game that he doesn’t get respect he deserves

  9. East coast bias or bias against west coast teams is real they consistently under rate west coast players cause they don't always stay up to watch them as much i remember when they did their top 100 players of all time list they left Kopitar off the list, and had Jonathan Towes close to the top 50 which is crazy considering Kopitar is/was arguably better

  10. No. Keep tagging him. He needs to feel the consequences of making such an idiotic posts and fighting the fans about it on social media. Its super unprofessional, and deserves the hate that he is getting
