You guys are celebrating Woll's play and all the praised heaped on him is deserved however this is worth noting. Woll is the only reason the Leafs aren't 2 5 0 and at the very bottom of the Atlantic. The Leafs desperately need a top tier Dman, that is, unless their plan is to play Woll more than 50 games and somehow have him maintain a .950 sv% while being shelled with high danger scoring chances.
Losing McCabe, despite the sub par play so far, is a blow and groin injuries, if thats what it is, are one of the most complex injuries in hockey. McCabe logs 20+ mins per night. Who is going to suck up those minutes? The other 5? Giordano can't do that anymore and the others will run increased risk of more injuries. And Simon Benoit is the replacement. Justin Holl and Rasmus Sandin are looking pretty good right now. I know people are talking about a trade for a top tier D-Man – I just don't believe they have the cap space or assets to swing that without paying a big price on the roster.

Obviously you just play Benoit since McCabe is out. It wouldn't affect the cap at all. These 2 don't even realize that they wouldn't have to send anyone down since McCabe would be out.
