  1. As long as we stay in the playoff picture, I am against selling anyone who is effective in the lineup. Monahan is not available, same with Pearson and Savard. If we fall out of the picture, I am fine with trading all 3 of them. I would trade RHP, Ylonen, Lindstrom, Primeau, and Armia right now for draft pics and fill the hole from within.

  2. Trade him to SJ for their 1st overall pick next yr, otherwise no deal and stays with the Habs. So no deal with any team.

  3. If he stays healthy and keep performing Monahan could fetch a haul at the deadline due to his ridiculously low cap hit, any contender would throw a quantity of draft capital to acquire a 2 mil 55-70 pts pace veteran 2nd line center, even if its only for 1 run.

On the other hand, he’s still young enough to be in our plans, getting rid of him will slow the rebuild because he is our go to guy, even if performing he wont resign at a crazy number and having too many center is not a problem.

  4. Monahan most likely won’t settle for a 3 yrs contract considering his age. As much as i like him, i think you need to trade him if the return is juicy enough.

  5. Keep Monaghan! Often, it’s better to stick with a known (excellent) player than risk getting an untested prospect. Plus Sean adds incredible value and expertise for the younger guys. He’s only 29!

  6. I'd like to see montreal keep Monahan…they are winning faceoffs and games…it might not be because of him but he is a contributing factor
