  1. Asked recently how the Bruins accomplished 5 wins in a row to start the season, head coach Jim Montgomery said "smoke and mirrors". This year's Bruins team has allowed the opposing teams to carry the play for much of the time . That's against mostly non-playoff teams. What has saved them is superior goaltending. Last night, Anaheim dominated long stretches but for most of the game they were stoned by Ullmark.

A penalty and a lucky goal, off Marchand's stick, changed the game. Bottom line, this team has work to do to improve both "D" and especially offense. The good thing is that the Bs pride themselves on hard work and coach Monty wasn't fooling himself about the hot start. They will bounce back against the Red Wings.
