The Minnesota Wild fell to 3-3-2 after a 3-2 shootout loss to the Washington Capitals. The Wild trailed 2-1 after 2 periods, on a lone goal by Marco Rossi, but Ryan Hartman scored on a breakaway to tie the score at 2. Marc-Andre Fleury made 17 saves in the third and some big saves in overtime to keep the game tied, but the Wild went 0-7 in the shootout to take the loss. The Wild Power Play was also 0-5 on the night as Darcy Kuemper finished with 39 saves in the victory. The Wild will play New Jersey on Sunday to finish off the road trip.

A couple of questions isn't good enough
Very uninspiring game!!! Now they cannot hit the net and still when they do they kill the chest protector! Unbelieveably terrible zone entry once again, cannot decide quickly to pass or shoot, giving everyone and their grandmother time to get a stick on it! Merril the stump cost us the 2nd goal because he was overv10 feet away from the nearest Washington player! Why they keep putting the STUMP out there is beyond stupid! Sure, they made some forechecks but had 33 chances entering their O Zone which they never got a SOG and went well over 5 minutes of the 3rd period at one point not even getting over the O blue line let alone a SOG! The 3rd period was keepaway from the Wild. Sure the chances they got were mostly harmless but still no offense = NO GOALS! Fleury was a sieve on that first goal! That should be a spot he has 100% blocking at. Why they kept shoving Maroon out there when by the 2nd period he looked like he had nothing left. When he got chances he had nothing to put on it. EK has been atrocious on faceoffs! I am not inspired! Kaprizov was a non-factor and Zucarello was invisible too! I hope the reason Billy went to that ceremony in Edmonton was to offer his buddy the head coach job of the Wild!
As a side note – Charlie Stramel looks to be in a difficult situation with the new staff at Wisco

I got to the party late and only watched the 1st two periods. My cousin plays for Denver so I watched that……That being said, the Wild are 3-5 and missing Spurgeon Boldy and Freddy. There are 74 games to go……..

As of yesterday that Kap line has gave up most goals in the league (8). Of all lines played at least 10 mins. That is pretty telling.
Kirill has 9pts in 8 games ppl need to chill. He has said b4 hes a slow starter if this is a slow start then damn. Ima steal a quote "ever seen him when his game is on?"
IMO Let Rossi stay where he's at for a while. He has wingers that create havoc and gives him a security blanket physically..when Boldy comes back that keeps some punch in our bottom half. My vision of a contending team has him right where he is now..If you move him up…the defensive pressure will ramp up as well.. Just like Faber is playing way to many minutes for his experience..Let them settle in..Besides..what's the rush?? Are we contending this year or next for that matter?
I think getting that pp going will make a world of a difference. Special teams have been atrocious.
Gus needs the start tomorrow. There are good things to build on after this loss though…but I really need KK97 to start leading by example….and I think Rossi on the top line with him and Lizard would be a really good idea. Maybe not against NJD, but a softer team after a good practice? It might spark some goodness.🎉
Rossi did get a shift with Zucc and Kaprizov in the third, and they did pretty bad together as they spent most of the time in their own zone. Although, I don't think that means anything because they just need more time to get chemistry with each other.
