You are correct. The Devils are an elite team, and will be for years. I’m glad that we kept 3 goalies, because the injuries are piling up already. If they traded for another goalie in the offseason, how do you know that goalie wouldn’t get hurt too?
Sadly, I’ve watched UPL… UPL is the type of goalie who tries to not get missed.. he plays big in the net and make a big target expecting to make saves.. that would have won a ton of games in the 80’s and before.. today.. these players practice hitting dinner plates from the blue line… playing to NOT get missed is not going to do much tin today’s game.. and UPL’s number bore that out. Levi is a reactor.. he will react to the shot as much as possible and it shows.. Comrie is in the middle.. Hasek was a reactor too… both Levi and Hasek were not big guys.. they actually have to make saves.. Haseks career speaks for itself.. UPL.. rarely see his gloves move on a shot.. that’s also why, when he’s dealing with a breakaway/shootout… we’ll.. let’s just say I”d rather have dahlin back there.. he’s made more saves in the last year on a breakaway (goalie pulled situation.. he’s only one back) than UPL has. I agree with not giving up on players too soon… I think they’ve heald on to this one.. too long. He was below average in the ECHL… what makes you think he’s going to be something in the NHL..Maybe the good news in this.. If UPL stinks up the joint.. maybe they’ll waive him and get him down to the AHL to play… if we’re lucky.. He’ll get claimed.. else.. he’ll get time playing.

It's not the goaltending, it's the Defense, it's atrocious in front of them and don't tie up sticks or clear it out for better sight of the puck. Stop hating on UPL all the time, makes you look casual Joe

With Comrie now injuried and Levi still out do you think Adams tries to trade for a goaltender ( olofsson as trade bait) ??? Do they try and sign Halak who i believe is still UFA? Or do the Sabres go with UPL & Cooley until Levi get back ? Thanks for the video .

I was saying before the season started, the Sabres need to go out & get a proven NHL veteran goalie…. & now we're down 2 goalies already, & Cooley is now the back up.

I try so hard to look for the positive in UPL . But it's getting harder to find it. I have watched all 8 games and watched 8 different Sabres team. HCDG needs to get his shit together and figure out our system and max out our current roster skill set and abilities.
Bryson is a "fun" player. Sure, that's one way to describe it.
the goalie problem is a separate issue now. but i dont see the motor of this team being able to win games consistently. the core is too mid, can not dictate games, takeover games, lock games or kill games.
it always has to get close, unless you play a islanders team who play a back to back.
hughes goal was bad, could see samuelson confused after that one. not confident in any of our goalies really. levi's style is too hectic, comrie cant control pucks. its rough
To say Comrie’s injury is the reason they should’ve traded for another goalie in the off-season is just revisionist self congratulating. Who would the goalie have been? Comrie would’ve been the one traded for likey and this goalie could’ve been injured. You can’t use the rearview mirror as a crystal ball Joe.
Since Joe likes 5 v 5 stats. Dahlin in the last 3 years & eight games has been on the ice for 203 goals for 5v5 & 248 against 5v5. He's money on the PP. Probably top 1-2-3 in the league. Thus he's 2nd highest paid d-man. If you are going to take credit for the good you have to be held accountable for the bad. I'm not saying Dahlin stinks. Just saying he's been caught more often on the bad side. And since 98% percent of the end of games finish 5v5 hopefully last years +10 is a trend for the future.
