Rasmus Andersson hit on Patrik Laine – Have your Say!

Rasmus Andersson was issued a five minute major penalty for elbowing on this hit to Patrik Laine with five seconds or so left in the entire game. There’s already a heated debate: Launch? Elbow? Clean? Have your say!

  1. The play doesn’t end until the buzzer, hit was not charging. Was a risky play trying to get a empty net goal, in a game they are winning. If that’s a suspension, Scott Stevens should be in jail…

  2. At least 20 games, then these things will be over in a minute. But NHL player safety departemend with a goon at its helm is nothing but a joke.

  3. Really suprised how stupid this was from a top Dman.. and now he gets suspended for several games and gudbranson is going to attack him next time they play

  4. Left his feet. Laine didnt really alter his plane. Forearm contact to the head. Andersson is appealing his suspension – he's lucky he didnt get more than 4 games. Another spineless decision by the NHL.

  5. It was cheap….cheap as he'll you can see from the back angle Andersson didn't brace, he pushed off, he jumped…stuff Like this enforcers should be in the league..

  6. That is INTENT to injure at a meaningless point in the game. 4 games is 36 too few games. He should be gone for half a season. PERIOD!

  7. That was a clean hit, Laine had ducked low during his shot. It was a legitimate attempt to prevent a goal. It wasn't a high velocity hit. 4 games is an excessive call for a non injury inducing check.

Did Goudreau really call for a head hunt during their next game?

  8. I think if Laine hadn’t changed his body position by clearing the puck this wouldn’t have been suspend-able. Charging yes, but dman finishing his check with a bit of circumstantial bad luck makes this out to be dirtier than intended. Head down cruising on your own blue line is also not a smart way to play, you’re going to get caught
