@LS6Z28 The rule now is that there is no instigator penalty if both players fight without anyone instigating it (see Toews/Backes). However, if a player wearing a face shield instigates a fight, there is an instigator AND an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for a total of 9 PIMs (see Gagne/Volchenkov).
