Detroit fan here. There's a reason we didn't keep Ned and Hellberg.
I knew that sooner or later the bill would come due but there's no reason that they couldn't change their style of play and be more competitive.
Two issuse : no finising on the team and the coach.
Dubas cannot evaluate goaltenders. He never has been able to.
He's also got some kind of hard on foe pure puck moving defenceman.
Thank God he's gone from Toronto.
We gotta get hip to the fact Lars Eller is not a good player anymore. I’m a huge Caps and love him for the cup run, but I promise y’all, he’s been bad for two years now. Not sure why the league still holds him in such high regard.
It’s coaching sadly love sully but the plays their using the whole damn league can predict the fact the coyotes pp looks better then the penguins should tell you everything
The Ducks might surprise you.
It's the Karlsson effect, he's never been known for his defensive abilities, and the Pens core being a few years past their expiry date just highlights his shortcomings as a defender. Sure, he may put up a 100 points per season but it doesn't matter if the opponents score 120-130 goals when he's on ice.
2 goals in the bottom 6. 0 for 18 on the PP in their last 5 games. Below average goaltending.
Resigning Jarry…. I get it… Dubas wanted to make some big moves, which he did but, man oh man Jarry is going to be the death of this team.
Pens suck, get over it. Deal with a year or two of not being good. Pens fans are spoiled and are crying now cause their team sucks and Crosby is old and washed up.

Stop worrying people. They are only a measly 2 games below .500. The season is so young yet. Tons of time to turn this around. The talent is there to go on a long winning streak.

It’s the Erik Karlsson affect his defense is a liability and he plays against the other teams top line a decent amount.
They just need to bring back Louis Domingue
It’s like this:
1) Jarry is being coached to sit back in the crease like a big-bodied goalie. He’s not Matt Murray or any other big goalie. He needs to play to his athleticism and be a little more aggressive to cut off shooting angles.
2) Sullivan has some man-crushes on players that don’t deserve it. Jeff Carter and Chad Ruhwedel are terrible but will never get scratched no matter how bad they play. Meanwhile, PO Joseph has been a healthy scratch for multiple games after having one bad game, which honestly was largely due to his D partner having an even worse one (Ruhwedel).
3) Sullivan will, with a multiple-goal deficit in the second half of 3rd periods, continue to roll his 4th line! With all those weapons on the top lines? wtf? 😂
4) The power play is absolute garbage. With all those weapons, this has to fall in the coaching, esp. Todd Reirden.
5) The bottom 6 has no scoring threat. No guy that can just snipe one in and keep opponents honest. The bottom 6 are all basically grinders and 4th line type of players. Meanwhile, we have some young guys in the AHL that need a chance. Again, we go back to Sullivan and his crushes on old, washed up veterans.
6) We don’t have a legit 1B goalie. We have decent but inconsistent starter and 1-2 serviceable backups. No one good enough to take on a modern game 1B goalie workload. It puts Jarry, or whoever is the starter, at increased risk for injury and wear & tear as the season grinds on.

When you get outcoached by DJ Smith, yeah there’s a problem.
