NHL Edge – Huberdeau vs Huberdeau / Kadri vs Kadri

Has there been any reporting if these metrics are off ?

For Example

* Shot Speed
* Skating Distance
* Zone Time

21/22 – Huberdeau vs 22/23 – Huberdeau

21/22 – Nazem Kadri vs 22/23 Kadri

[https://edge.nhl.com/en/compare/skaters/20212022-regular-8475172-20222023-regular-8475172](https://edge.nhl.com/en/compare/skaters/20212022-regular-8475172-20222023-regular-8475172)

Huberdeau shot total being down 50% as well as his shot speed and danger zone shots kinda make sense.

But I don’t get the Skating Distance, it almost looks like their 2x the work from their career years. Or maybe their shifts are too long?

But otherstuff makes sense. Kadri has a big drop off on average shot speed but then he is above average for his time in the offensive and defensive zone.

Anybody wanna take a stab at the analysis?

    The Flames out skate most of their opponents by over a mile cumulatively. They need to get more efficient on their skating distance to be competitive.

    I think we leave them both home on the next road trip. Then have the media team put together a 5hr video of each of their highlights and their only job while the team is away is to watch the entire video every day.

    These guys need to remember who they are.

    You tend to skate more when your team doesn’t have the puck.

    Kadri has been on a bad stretch more than outright bad. He was still rightfully an all start the first half of last year.

    Huberdeau has been like an average third line winger since he got here, and he was an absolute magician before he came.
