Detroit Red Wings Complete Comeback in OT Over the New York Islanders, Snapping Their Losing Skid!



For a while, it seemed like the Red Wings had run into another brick wall of a goalie in Ilya Sorokin. Despite playing better than their previous 3 outings, and despite the efforts of Ville Husso, the Wings found themselves down 2-0 early in the 3rd. But then they broke through thanks to Daniel Sprong. From there the production began to flow. The reconfigured second line showed up for this one as Compher had a hell of game with the a goal to give the Wings a lead in the 3rd, and the primary assist on Raymond’s OT winner. Walman and Seider continue to get better every game, both had multi-point nights. #lgrw

    What a stupid penalty by David Perron with less than 5 minutes left. Almost blew the game. Plus, he’s a veteran, not a rookie. You can get away with that, somewhat, in almost every sport, but not in hockey with the one-man advantage.He needs to buy Lucas Raymond a dinner for saving him from further embarrassment.

    Nobody on planet Earth pronounces it sore-ah-kin… it's actually distracting when you do that cause it takes a second to figure out who tf you are talking about. It's suh-roak-in… The dude was a Vezina finalist… be better.

    Finally some secondary scoring! 2nd and 3rd lines looked much better by swapping Perron and Rasmussen. The top line has been quiet but they'll be back, I'm not worried about them. On the downside, the Chiarot-Petry pair has been just terrible. I'm not a huge Justin Holl fan but at this stage of Jeff Petry's career, there's no way he should be in for Holl. I know he's the local guy and all, but he's clearly the 7th d-man right now and he should be sitting for most of the games. The next 3 games are going to be extremely hard playing FLA, BOS and NYR. 3 points would be very good.

    As for the Husso doubters, this team has many bigger concerns than Husso or Reimer's play. They've been very good and didn't cost any games at all. Their defensive play is still below average and the goalies have nothing to do with their recent struggles.

    I don't like the way this team plays at all. They take long stretches of game off and they're very sloppy.

    Husso was great, Seider is third best in points in the league, who would have expected that… overall a good team win.
