I am a Texier believer, but even I think that he should be looked at.

The first 6 games he was fast, involved, and working hard. The past few games he seems to be trying to force it. To answer your question, I would say that he has looked really good at points, and obviously Vincent believes that he is working harder than say a KJ or Marchenko. We don’t get to see practices, and Texier may be trying too hard or “gripping the stick” in the actual games.

So many people on this team look good but don’t produce shit. Gaudreau looks good (at times) but isn’t doing anything, Fantilli looks good but isn’t actually doing very much, Sillinger looks better but is on pace to disappoint, same for Johnson, and Werenski, and on and on and on.
Anywhere else in the league if you say there’s a roster with Laine, Gaudreau, Werenski, and Fantilli to go along with the depth of Jenner, Provorov, Severson, Johnson, and Marchenko you’d say they were stacked. But this is Columbus and every single player with maybe the exception of Bread turns to straight shit the moment they start playing here. It’s not the coaches, it’s not the GMs, it’s not even the players. It’s the fucking curse of this team. I would bet that not a single Ohio professional sports team from the major 4 wins a championship for the next 50 years.

I strongly feel that him (like many others) are suffering from bad line combinations because their playstyles don’t match as good as they could. Texier can make small plays. He is very skillful. He can support 2 players well but when those Bemstrom and Fantilli who are both more of a shooters, you are gonna have bad time

I got downvoted into oblivion for saying Tex has looked rusty after a year away from the NHL. This sub loves to hate on Bemstrom but will give Tex a free pass on a 9 game point drought and -12 on ice goal differential (2nd worst on the team is -8)…

He’s been one of the most impactful players on the ice imo. Obviously the points don’t show it but he always pops off on the screen. The lines are a mess rn

Texier has the skills. That said, I think he can be called out like Johnny, KJ, Laine (hurt), Marchy and all of our forwards who have yet to wake up this year.
