From the Blackhawks v Coyotes game last night.. can pretty clearly see the player put out his skate and even give it a little kick at contact.

It just escapes reason. Not only was this a good goal on review, but it overturned the call on the ice.
If the Cuylle goal was a mercy call, this was an anti-mercy call
NewYawk-Giants
Cuylle robbed.

Gotta have someone do a bicycle kick just to test a theory.

Come on!!!! The guy literally stuck his foot out! Don’t need to get sympathy from the refs cause of your stadium woes!

Yeah after seeing this, the league needs to do a complete overhaul of the rule and how it’s reviewed. The amount of times the Rangers have been screwed by this while it has benefited other teams is absurd.

From the NHL official rule book:
Rule 11.3.c
“… a goal may be withdrawn should a players foot move towards the puck in a motion consistent with kicking or chipping, in a manner that redirects the puck into the goal, or if an attacking player’s foot is anywhere near the puck should that player be wearing a NY Rangers jersey.”
cha-cha_dancer
you can’t just be up there just doin’ a kicking motion like that
CopperPeak1978
Kicking motion incudes, but not limited to, any player wearing a “Rangers” hockey jersey.
Lululemonparty_
Forget even that. Just the last few games I have seen the way the linesmen miss off sides.

Wait this counted? Wat in tarnation

It’s like pass interference in the nfl, it’s just decided on depending on what they had for breakfast that morning

Totally unrelated but those are some nice looking Arizona jerseys

was so pissed watching this last night and seeing the call overturned by Toronto. theres zero consistency

Question..if the player begins stopping before the puck is shot or bounces off the goalie, is that allowed?
I think we’ve gotten to soft on tripping penalties, I feel like most are by accident.
impulse_thoughts
someone should make a compilation and put it in a question/test format, and see if people/referees can guess what call was made, or what call it should be.

Someone posted that 38 of 42 reviews on kicked goals have gone against us in the last 15ish years.
I didn’t check if it were true, but I’d be surprised if 4 had really gone in our favor in that time.

Honestly is it me or is officiating getting worse each year ?? It seems like there is one of these baffling calls every game
Kappokaako02
I was sitting 15 feet from this “goal” and i said no way they overturn this after the ranger edmonton call the other day. Boy was i wrong.
NickPatches
This was a good goal? I’d be furious.
Slugggo
anyone else sticks their foot out: good goal
puck hits a Rangers skate: believe it or not, straight to jail
Sjdillon10
I honestly think they flip a coin
JarmaBeanhead
Didn’t they win 8-1 anyways? I hope that was called back, you can see him kick.
