Jarry is junk !
This is a perfect analysis of the Pens. So much offensive zone time and so many soft goals.
Jarry is timid and soft, unlike Fleury who challenges and is aggressive! Why the long term contract is beyond me. It is the same story with him every year!

Man Ive been trying to argue the problem runs deeper than Jarry forever. Our defense is akin to mannequins on a lot of these goals we let in. Im not gonna act like Jarry's getting a vezina or anything and a 5 year extension was insane but its not all on him. It feels like we built this defensive core only to make it easier to score and didnt stop to think that might end up applying to our opponents as well. I mean it definitely has, we would be a threat to the league if we werent such a threat to ourselves. We skate out there, take a lead, then shoot ourselves in the foot to the point where even insane bad nonsense calls cant save us! (I am a goalie and a hometown penguins fan, that was not interference be for real, dude never made any contact w Jarry our own player did)
Spending so much on 1 Dman that is 1 dimension offensive play won't win you many games , blaming Jarry is 1 dimension thinking when your D is giving up so many shots and quality chances to the other team, Dubas is to blame his 1 dimension thinking when working with the Leafs offense alone will win you games is brought to the Pens
As a penguins fan I liked everything dubas did, except for the jarry signing. If you ask me he's looks like a glorified backup.

I honestly feel its Jarry. Hes WILDLY incosistant. Went from a shut out against Avalanche to next game letting in 3 goals on 7 SHOTS! He lets in EASY goals at crucial moments that are deflating the energy and momentum from the entire team. Offensively they look great! Maybe the D could pick up the slack a bit but its psychological after awhile knowing your goalie will let any shot on net score after your team just busted thier asses tying the game ect. Its infuriating. Think Sullivan needs to go too.
You just have to pay attention to Jarry in goal. He is either out of position, or when there is a rebound, because of his flopping on the initial stop, he is more times than not so far out of position it leads to an easy goal. He is terrible, and the fact they re-signed this guy tells me they have no clue about goaltending.
He makes suicide saves, either it is spectacular, or leads to an ugly goal on the rebound.

At best they are a mediocre wild card team. Core is too old to carry the team like they once did and signing Jarry to 5 years is laughable. They were a dangerous team…5 years ago.

This shows that one acquisition isn't gonna change fortunes. Obviously EK had a season of the century also year and was one of the top players in senators history but the pens need to realize no matter how hard they try, their cup runs are over. They have accomplished so much in fact they've accomplished so much more than a person could in one lifetime so they should stop trying so hard to get another run in due to how stacked the eastern conference is. Ever since the mid 2010s the East has been so stacked and that isn't gonna change anytime soon.
I think Sully is gone. There is just no way he still has a job being at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. FFS, The Habs are currently in a playoff spot.
