Toccet only tells Petey he needs improvement so as to not make him look as though he is perfect in every way , but Petey knows where he needs improvement and the core of his talent comes from the way they play hockey overseas especially Sweden , they take losing very seriously and the fans are incredibly harsh on the losing teams , so this is the reason there are so many talented players coming from Sweden because they train at NHL level at 12 years old so by the time they play in the NHL they make most players look amature , Petey is the bruce lee of hockey , he knows all the moves and executes them with such elegance and precision " .Come in here, dear boy, have a cigar, you're gonna go far

when i went to a game in vancouver the guy behind me was pretty lit so when the chant came he would say coconuts go instead of go canucks go 😂😂
hes pretty good, definitely the 6th best centerman in the league, but not top 5 for sure
He reminds me a lot of Datsyuk. He's similar to Bergeron defensively, but has a lot more offensive upside. He can score in triple digits while still being great defensively. Datsyuk topped out at 97 points, but he did that during the Dead Puck Era. I think Pettersson is capable of doing something similar comparably. The problem is that the Canucks' future is so up in the air right now that anything can happen from now until next June. The team hasn't accomplished anything yet, and if they don't at least make the playoffs, you can forget about a long term contract and they'd be idiots to sign him for a year, walk him to free agency, and hope he reconsiders.

If Pettersson isn't a top 5 player in the league, he's certainly a top 5 center. Obviously McDavid is 1, and MacKinnon is 2, that much is clear, but behind him there's a group of players I'd say are pretty close to each other, and they are Matthews, Draisaitl, Jack Hughes and Elias Pettersson. Behind that it gets really murky, a mix of Zibanejad, Aho, Crosby, Barkov, etc. Players who are definitely elite, but at this point aren't quite in that upper upper echelon of centers.
But yeah, I'd consider Petey probably ahead of Matthews and on the same level as Jack Hughes, who's a bit more dominant offensively, but not as good all-around as Petey.
Past centers, there are a couple of defensemen and wingers that could be in the convo. Guys like Pastrnak, Makar, and Fox, but I'd argue Petey is at least equal to all of them
