As a long time NHL fan, I feel terrible for Eckman-Larsson, but I am actually more concerned with the destructive trend that is being established among NHL players. Doesn't matter which players are involved. I think the suspension to McAvoy is 100% warranted. Furthermore, I believe this video clip should be shown within the NHLPA as a prime example of how NOT to comport ones-self on the ice. Not sure what precipitated this event but it's a dangerous and reckless action. Hopefully Eckman-Larsson will be OK and no ill affects will beset him in the future. C'mon Charlie, you're better than that!
Big fan of Charlie's, but this is wrong and deserves suspension time. I don't think McAvoy is inherently a dirty player after this, but it's a step toward it.
What happened to McAvoy? He had such potential. He was a big reason that we lost to Florida in the playoffs last year and he is pretty much non existent this year! Lindholm & Carlo are much more dependable!
There was a scene in The Godfather where the police captain directs his men to take hold of Michael and “stand him up straight” before delivering a jaw busting right cross. Maybe if that were the punishment instead of 4 games off…
