The Most Controversial Hockey Player

Jordan Binnington may be the most controversial person in hockey and NHL at the moment. He currently is the starting goalie for the St Louis Blues in the NHL and has garnered a reputation for being a bit of a hot head. Jordan Binnington has gotten famous for having melt downs, tantrums, and many “Jordan Binnington Anger Compilations” on Youtube have shown this. But before his hockey infamy he was known for one of the greatest Stanley Cup Playoffs run ever. He helped bring the 2019 St Louis Blues from last place to the Stanley Cup Championship game versus the Boston Bruins. It was an awesome moment and story to watch but now Jordan Binnington is seen as problematic by many hockey fans. If you enjoyed this video please hit subscribe it helps a lot!

  1. If you enjoyed the video please subscribe and like! I'm still learning how to make YouTube content and I had a lot of fun making this video, so I hope you liked it too. What do you think about Jordan Binnington?

  2. I blame the defense for the Blues decline not so much Binnington. I only watch the Blues this year because I want to see a Binnington incident.

  3. I wonder how much of Binnington's BS comes from him feeling like back in his rookie season he had "something to prove", and now that he's won a cup, he doesn't have anything to prove anymore. At least, in his mind he doesn't.

Dude needs to get his head on straight. When you're still playing, you still have something to prove. I don't know where his attitude, tantrums, and other crap are coming from, but he's gotta get a lid on it before it ruins his career. Dude seems like a bit of a git, honestly.

  4. Welcome to 2023 where the NHL fanbase has become so soft that the league's "most controversial hockey player" has 30 career penalty minutes and has literally never injured anyone, unless you count feelings.

  5. Binnington behaves likes 90% of goalies prior to '95. Binnington only sticks out today, because most other goalies have no fire. Most goalies in the league today can give up 8 goals, get ran over, and act like nothing's wrong.

  6. Kadri gives multiple players concussions and swings his stick hitting a penalty box ref ="He's baby jesus that can do no wrong". Binnington swings his stick, throws his helmet, and an empty water bottle = "He's crazy, a loose canon". I get Bennington's behavior is worth criticizing but don't people think the magnifying glass is a little to focused on him?

  7. How young are you? You think Binnington is more controversial than Avery, Propert, Richard (whose antics caused a riot in Montreal). Remember Mike Milbury climbed the stands and beat a fan with the fan’s own shoe. Ever heard of Raffi Torres? As far as goalies go, Hextall and Emery make Binnington look like a saint. Binnington just throws tantrums. In todays hockey yeah it’s bad, but “the most controversial hockey player” c’mon.

  8. You talk about Binningtons stats and how they've dropped over the seasons, and equate that to his behavior, yet you fail to mention the defense in front of him and how it has dramatically declined in that same span.
The St. Louis Blues defense is horrendous compared to what it was in 19. They are a completely different team.

I'm in no way defending Binner, to ignore the team in front of him and their lackluster play is disingenuous and lazy reporting.

  9. Bennington is Bennington's problem dude is a head case either the time beaches him and gets him the help he clearly needs, along with a good ego check. Or we will have a one hit washed up wonder by the time he pulls his head out of his ego fountain (yes the brown hole)

  10. Sports reporters calling him a child throwing tantrums is pot calling kettle black. Would have love to see them react to goalies like Billy Smith or Ron Hextall. 😂😂😂

  11. The reason he did so well in the Cup season is because the team around him went all in with Berube's style which was to just slam into everyone and crack some skulls. I'm not saying he can't be a quality goaltender, but he has some flaws in his game that I don't think he's willing to address and the team in front of him since the Cup year is drastically different. They aren't beating their opponents down. The problem with him is that what should have happened was him being sent down to the minors as a warning shot and to get him some help with his head, but I get the impression that until he has a come to jesus moment with reality, he would take that poorly and probably demand a trade.

  12. I guess you've never heard of Billy Smith, Ray Emery, Ron Hextall and many other goalies who had a chip on their shoulder and didn't mind swinging a stick or more. Has the NHL gone so woke and snow flaked that aggressive goalies are considered the bad guy??? There have always been aggressive goalies in the game, and they were usually winners. I'll take Binnington over any other goalie who plays nice.

  13. I feel like Blues fans saying "it's not Binner, it's the D around him" are in denial. He AND the D around him are bad.

Put his advanced stats up against Vejmelka or Montembault and tell me it's just the D.

  14. Great video, but I will say that Nazem Kadri slamming into Binnington was NOT an accident. The Blues were on fire in 2022, and they definetely had a cup run in them, and Binnington was on fire in the playoffs. We also beat the avalanche twice, and the Avalanche only lost 4 times the entire playoffs, so the Blues were a threat to beat the Avs and their stellar season. I think that it was intentional, beacuse Kadri has done similar things in the past, and the altercation they got into before + the circumstances, how could it be an accident. Binnington had every right to throw that water bottle at Kadri.

  15. I think Binnington will pull it together as a Blues fan who just saw him save 31 pucks from going last weekend. He us not perfect but who is, maybe dometimes reputations don't tell the ehole story. I grew up in the 1970s going to Blues games with my Dad, learned all about hockey. Take away all the entertainment part today and look at the game. Winning the cup fir the Blues was super exciting but i knew my Dad was smiling in heaven having waited so many years to see that. Why detract from their fantastic win. They have a hard season ahead, i say let's go 💙🏒
