The biggest thing with Willander was he was a very late riser so there was more risk (although because of his skating, he could still have a Matt Bartkowski type of floor)
…thus far you’d have to say he is far exceeding expectations as he’s already seeing top 4 (and lately top 2) ice time on a team where all the d-man are already drafted or will be.
So, thus far the fact he still appears to have a game that is on the ascent (given the ‘late riser’ risk) has to be the single biggest positive from this season thus far as far as prospects go (far exceeds Hunter B’s huge point totals in my eyes).

Interesting move to not wait for the changeover to Fanatics uniforms before getting a Willander jersey. I would’ve at least gone with his rookie camp / pre-season number.
