  1. Definitely Rock bottom, but to see musty ,smith, halt, and future shark celebrini doing well (so far) down in their respective leagues makes me excited for the eventual youth take over for the sharks!

  2. Came close to buying a ticket to the game, glad I didn't…beers at the tank are not cheap. Instead I was watching the game live until it hit 5-0. After that I recorded it and came back and watched it at 2x speed later. This is going to be a long, long year, and hopefully next year it'll be slightly better.

  3. JD, would you prefer the penguins to finish bottom 10 this year or get an unprotected pick next year?

  4. Pittsbugh drafted Lemieu and Crosby and eventally won 5 Stanley Cups over the years. That's what the Sharks need to do. As the new top talent comes to the team we can enjoy the building and growing leading to a championship.

  5. It would be great to see Karlsson trip this Saturday 11-4-23 on the blue line and see a Shark go on a breakaway and score!

  6. That poor kid. My first game was Patty’s first game in 1997, his was the worst in sharks history and on his birthday 😭

  7. I know it most likely won’t happen, but at this point I’m probably wondering if it would be better for Eklund to be send down and tear it up on a line with Gushchin. Better to have him tearing it up compared to being engrained into a losing culture. Idk just food for thought. Next year might be better for him as he will have more reinforcements. I do think he needs the NHL reps. Just don’t want it to mess with his confidence.

PS: Loved the Gushchin when it happened. Hope he can be our version of Kucherov. 😊

Ideally I think it would be good to tank for another 2-3 years after this. At some point we need to draft a D-man in the top 5.

  8. My thoughts though is what will Pittsburgh do. I really felt like this was going to happen, them continuing to regress. They are aging. Happens to all teams.

If they bottom out this year with a pick 5-10 range will they opt to keep it and gamble on next year with us having an unprotected 1st? I say they gamble as all teams usually always gamble in this situation.

What if Grier taking an underwhelming return on Karlsson in return for only retaining 1.5 was a gamble on his part that it will handcuff the Pens cap-wise and we will receive a top pick? Lol I don’t think so, but would be funny if it was true.

  9. Will the fans have the patience for the rebuild? Because in a non traditional market, loosing more games will lose the fans

  10. i actually lol at the "mental health" sponsor during "therapy session" we all needed after this hot garbage of a mess, unwatchable game… i hope some pride resurfaces next game against the pens

  11. It pains me to see all the comments from sharks fans asking to fire Grier and Quinn, we all knew we were going to be bad for the foreseeable future. That’s fine, I’m ready for a new start for the sharks. And our time will come.. look at Detroit, as u said Colorado and plenty other teams that were really bad before being really good. I just hope our young studs don’t request trades.. it’s gotta be hard for Eklund being on this type of sharks team. Good news is it can’t get much worse from here😂

  12. There needs to be accountability at this point. The fund understand there will be losing, but this is embarrassing. There really is no plan either. We are a laughing stock organization in the NHL just like Warriors were for many years before new ownership demanded more return on their investments. This team has no fun, energy, or chemistry.

  13. Altho I agree that Quinn is not directly responsible for what the player is putting on the ice, I still think he needs to be better, starting with line management. Maybe it's easier to judge and criticise because we are not the one behind the bench, but some lines are just head scratcher altogether. For example, I think Zadina being in Quinn's doghouse is highly questionable, even if yes he hasnt played the prettiest games, at least he and Hertl were looking alright on the offense and at some point, you have to do something to create some spark offensively. Same with Zetterlund, even if he looked the best goal scorer so far in the season, I think he would benefit a lot more playing on Eklund's line since Kunin is NOT a 2nd line person and is just tanking that line. This way, you may have at least some offensive on your first 2 lines. I dont care if we lose 4-3, we just dont need to look ass.

On that same topic, I think we do need Gushchin at this point, at least until Barabanov is back. Speaking of recalling players, our Dman are looking attrocious, and we really need one that can contribute offensively. Thrun, even if he didnt look the best so far in the AHL, or if you want to let him cook a bit more, just recall Gawanke and let Thrun and Muk develop a bit more, but we need one that can contribute at least. It cant be worse than what we had tonight, so what can we lose at trying to more offensive weapon we have down there at this point? This is where I think Quinn can be held responsible like I said, we need some life. At least it's my opinion from someone random on the internet behind a screen, but I just want the Sharks to be watchable 🙁
