I was excited to see Bert. He’s looked like a fawn on ice most nights, falling everywhere. Outside of sometimes getting the puck back, he has been visible…in the worst way. Dude’s been terrible and needs to figure something out.

Get this moron coach out of here already.

Jarncock is out there getting a cardio workout not even interacting with the puck, yet he’s on the top line

I cannot believe he was sitting on the bench after Lijegren was taken down by the rat, and having a good old laugh with his old team mate. It was bad enough that the shitty ESPN commentators tried to justify Bertuzzi’s actions with a comment around the lines of “he knows what Marchand is like”.

    WHERE’S THE SNOT???

I fully believe players see the Leafs coming even before contract negotiations start. “Here come the Leafs, they’ll chuck a bag of money my way for 12 months worth of half assed effort. All I have to do is show up for the game. I don’t need to actually show like I care about the result.”

It’s time the players were given the message – if you don’t show up, you won’t be invited to show up for the next game.

  4. If you’re blaming Bertuzzi you’re an idiot. Marner has been garbage since the 2nd round and he gets 25 min regardless.

Coach with a small dick trying to flex his power against a kid on a 1 year deal. I don’t know if Keefe is the problem but he’s certainly not the solution, and as the coach you need to constantly look for solutions. Not just put your 2 best forwards together and hope for the best.

  5. Keefes not exactly wrong, Bertuzzi has done absolutely nothing out there, but a demotion to a terrible 4th line isn’t going to help either. They need to find some way to get some depth lines to contribute in some way pretty soon here.

As for Bertuzzi,he is the definition of a busy nothing guy out there. He’s buzzing around, even has the puck a lot, but the play dies with him. He’s trying to force everything and just handing out turnovers. Needs to be much better.

  6. Why does Bertuzzi look so shit out there? This guy always seemed to be hustling when he was in Detroit

Man, this whole situation is so frustrating. Bert has always been a clunky player skill wise, he’s just found ways to fit into systems. Not saying he doesn’t have offensive skill, he does, he just doesn’t generate offense by highlight reel plays like the Leafs top six does routinely. His constant falling over and bumbling around the ice is nothing new to him, it just stands out because he’s producing at a career low pace.

It’ll likely turn around for him, he’s been getting decent looks overall and his underlying numbers support that. It just sucks he seemed to fit with Boston instantly like a dream match, and he comes here and immediately struggles. Whether you think it’s important to winning or not, there’s definitely a culture set in Toronto by the top guys in terms of the style of hockey they play.

The thing is, Keefe would never, ever say this kind of thing about the Core 4.

  9. KossyTakos

gregor was really good last night so that was nice to see

bertuzzi with some retention for kerfoot could be a solution that works for all parties and would really give keefe some solid options

  11. nedstark1985

Anyone here think Keefe is the problem maybe ?

  12. reevoknows

I wish he’d demote Marner for not executing a game plan.

    Bert has been bad though

Bert chuckling with Marchand after that hit, fuck Bert. Fuck this team for being dead silent after that hit. Same old shit every year. We get “tough” guys and they are completely useless. Full of snot, nah full of shit they are.

This is what happens when you bring players in. That don’t give a rat’s ass Should have already learned that when they signed Mitch. Matthew mitch and Nylander 91 You can tell has given up as well. None of these players have any sort of desire to win a championship.

  15. CoupleScrewsLoose

honestly don’t even care, i’m so tuned out on this team right now. they’re the same team they were last year, the year before, and the year before that.

How about Kampf, Domi, Reaves and Holmberg? 0 goals combined. What are they doing, we have no bottom 6 depth once again

  17. Ladyboy227

Id be all for this if sheldon was willing to say it about the top 6 as well, that boy keefe is a snake.

I legit thought they would be playing differently this year. I bought into it with Tre and the people he added. I knew there would be the potential for some disaster but was hoping at least seeing them bite back would offset it.

But nope – they just seem like the same pushovers

I love Tavares but you just watched the other team’s captain can open your teammate into the boards and you do nothing? I’m not surprised but man this shit is disappointing. It really turns me off from watching.

Will anyone be surprised if Buffalo dummies us on Saturday?
