As far as I know, the channel itself is fine. It’s the Bally Sports Plus app that is the problem. At $20 per month it’s a total money grab for the quality they provide. ESPN+ is just barely over half the price and way more reliable, along with a lot more sports to watch and exclusive news articles on their site. Bally cashes in on in-market viewers who will pay the extra $9 per month because they either don’t know about VPNs or can’t/don’t want to get one.
You’re right, usually change.org petitions go nowhere, especially for sports stuff like this. IMO the most effective thing we can do is cancel the subscription en masse and cite horrible quality at an outrageous price. I’ve already cancelled and I’ve seen a lot of others do it too. Maybe over time, with enough cancellations, they’ll get their shit together or bring the price down, preferably both.
