  1. I got crap from 2 Carter bootshiners for suggesting they scratch Carter, said I can't judge such an elite talent. That I should leave the opinions to those who have "actually played and watched hockey for years". Internet tough guys (PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY ENJOYERS) with a lot of assumptions, yet where are they now. Crickets…. That's all I hear! lol

  2. I'll remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard this news. And it appears that the Pens are pulling out all the stops to beat San Jose.

  3. Just guessing here. Dubas traded away anybody who could or should be traded away this summer. That makes me think he was never blindsided for Carter's play. But I don't think Sully was either tbh. When does he ever downplay a player to the outside? It's on him the way he utilized Carter, but last season there wasn't much choice then to play him. What I noticed in this seasons press conferences, when asked about Carter, he didn't get defensive about it. He said it respectfully, but the message was he has to perform or else there will be competition for him. So, I can imagine Dubas and Sully hoped Carter to keep up in a smaller 4rd line role, find some of his game back and give that line some scoring touch. They gave it time to develop, were much more patient with it then you and me are, but now that also doesn't work out they finally pull the trigger. Getting Hinostroza on the roster was already an implication of that move. I could imagine that also takes pressure of Carter's back. Can't be an easy process for himself to experience that kind of a regression at the end of such a career. Only two years ago he started the season as our 1st line center and he did very well.

  4. All well and good, DK, but if Jarry doesn't up his game this will only be rearranging the chairs on the Titanic

  5. Good good good. This is clearly an active GM and one who's patience is only as short as this teams chances. Next move: It's only a matter of time before Dubas yanks the cord on this power play as well and removes one of it's forever key players. Here's a hint…it won't be Crosby or Karlsson this time. When an analytical mind like his see's what by all intents and purposes should be a top producing PP and one of the Penguins real strengths, but instead is not even treading water at 14%, there will be changes and it won't simply be replacing Rust with Smith next time. That, and if this team is magically anywhere near playoff contention come March, a trade will be made for a legitimate net front presence to put on one of the top two lines and the top PP. It might mean trading Rust or Rakell to get it done, but it will get done.

  6. True or false, Sullivan will be the coach next year if the pens miss the playoffs again this year

  7. I'm not big on a Sully firing, but if the Pens lose to the winless Sharks tomorrow we might just see it

  8. Now that Carter is gone, you can go back to blaming Jarry for loses. All wait maybe you should start discussing Rakell's and Guentzel's lack of goal production.

  9. DK,I appreciate you bringing up my question. My point was out of 98 shot attempts, only 11 were high danger attempts. We've been running the same schemes/offense for around 6years. Players learn how teams play. They will let a player shoot if it's most likely going to hit glass or the netting. I'm not saying replace Sully, but it's time he tries different things on the ice. Like he just did with pulling Carter etc.

  10. scratching Carter for the next game is NOT a big move. Why people think this is an important move escapes me. He's not the reason why this team is losing so much. He's been as good or better than his team mates on the 4th line. Plus no one has confirmed he will even be a scratch, and if a scratch for how long. Likely he will be a scratch I guess for the west coast trip. I really dont understand all the vitriol surrounding Carter. HE's 38 is shouted from the rooftops..Sid, Malkin, Letang are all around 36. It's kinda like the hatred for Trubisky who has been as good as Pickett and has a pro bowl under his belt. As to if this is a Dubus team now rather than a Sully one…I think people should consider that the Dubus moves so far havent shown much positive (still early)..he made some big acquisitions..the kinds of players we already have, but perhaps not the kind of players we reallly need

  11. All the people calling for a coaching change…..who replaces the coaching staff….who is out there that would warrant that?????

  12. Sullivan is the drizzling Sh!ts!!! Time for a much needed change before the playoff window closes if it hasn't closed already.

  13. You should revisit you comment section on the day that Carter signed his extension and then offer an apology.

    Thank you
